View Full Version : This may be exciting but it's not the way to keep going

Well this sure is more exciting (nerve-wracking is a better term) than last season, but as you already know this isn't exactly the "balance" that takes teams far into the playoffs. The offense rips it up for awhile and then goes into little "lapses" shall we call them; the defense struggles to hold the lead and put teams away, although like the other threads on here ask why on Earth do we keep rushing only 3 lineman and STILL give up big pass plays? I know that offensively we are very exciting and will probably only get better barring any major injuries, but on the other side of the ball we seem to have to have a 30 point lead to ensure that we will hang on and win a game. This has to be addressed before we play some "better" teams or if we do make the playoffs we will probably be one and out if we keep relying on this "get a big lead and then hang on" way! I know that it is very early in the season, but even Stevie Wonder could see that this is a very disturbing pattern that must be rectified NOW...

We come out with scripted plays and a good defensive gameplan guns blazing. Once the other team sees what we are doing they make adjustments and we seem to be slow at making an adjustment to their adjustments.

because the pressure that we get rushing only 3 is only about as useful as the pressure we bring rushing 4???
