View Full Version : Jay Cutler took the stairs to dinner after NFC championship game

Jay Cutler(notes) and girlfriend Kristin Cavallari dined at Mastro's Steakhouse on Sunday after the Bears' 21-14 loss to the Packers in the NFC championship game.
Cutler, who left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury, was not on crutches but "he limped a tiny bit," according to a source. The couple was joined by 11 other people in Mastro's private upstairs dining room, and our spies tell us that he took the stairs rather than the elevator.

This has already been mentioned in another thread. And it still stands that, even
if Cutler flew upstairs, he was taken out of the game by coach's decision. So
the issue is moot, despite the railings by Cutler's critics . . .

Lets see here....... A couple of facts that will just kill this buzz.
#1- ALL stairs have handrails- its a law to HELP people going up and down. Pretty easy for a stud like Cuttry to put ALL his weight on his hand holding the rail...hmmmmmm
#2- Stairs are usually in the back ( discreet so dumb-ass fans wont ride him). I'm sure he walked right in the front door asking everyone if they had "Seen the game today" ....
yeah... not a big deal......Of course we need to hear what he ate.

Email today from his mommy.
I don't care if Halas took him out of the game the moron should know better than parade around walking up stairs on a public place.
The only thing jay cares about is himself and his pleasure.

Not a moot point because just about every other elite starter in the NFL would have said "I can go, do NOT take me out"... I think the decision to pull Jay was as much about his performance as it was his injury.

Well, you can speculate all you want -- and it is just speculation --- but both
Cutler and Lovie said it was a coach's decision. That is the only sure thing
about the entire affair: what they said. That is all I can go by, not what I
"think."

It's been widely reported that Cutler was yelling at Coach Smith when they were sending Collins in. On what basis do you assert that Cutler was not saying "I can go, do NOT take me out"?
As for Jay's performance, he was getting hurried, hit, sacked, etc. all during the first half. It's also been reported that the Packers defense changed things up for Hanie - only rushing three and letting him try to read the defense and taking advantage of that, which they did via two picks. Hanie himself said on the Dan Patrick show that the scheme used when Raji got his pick had not been used all season from the film they had reviewed prepping for the game.

Actually probably about his attitude as much as the "injury". Punk is as punk does.
Pretty bad when the coaching staff " knows" after two years what kind of performance your gonna give the rest of the way.

Is this really what it’s come to? We realize that the process developing a firm opinion based on limited information and then searching for any shred of proof to support that quickly-adopted belief while dismissing or ignoring anything that undermines it has risen to the level of inalienable right for many Americans. But there’s no connection at all between Cutler walking up stairs and having an MCL injury that prevented him from playing.
As we’ve said many times this week, Cutler’s toughness can’t be questioned. He played with undiagnosed Type I diabetes in 2007, going about his business while losing 30-plus pounds. As Jason Whitlock of FOXSports.com told PFT Live on Wednesday, most of those who have opted to question Cutler’s lack of toughness actually intended to question his passion, but can’t process and then articulate their thoughts as something other than an attack on Cutler’s toughness.

One way or the other, I am loving this whole Cutler drama. I was so disappointed when we gave him to Chicago. Now, when I see the pics of him staring straight at the ground while the game is going on, Im so glad we no longer have Cutler. He is no longer our problem. Cutler is Chicagos problem. When you hear national sports shows saying that Cutler is hard to like, well, we can sure be grateful his name is no longer associated with the denver broncos.
Just makes all the better that we have a guy like Tebow as our field General.

IIRC he did not seem to be real concerned about it as he decided not to take the end of year physical or if he did he ignored the results of the blood tests till the spring when he took a the entrance physical and found out he had it.

I could live with that. A player isnt defined by who hates them. The Steelers and Patriots are probably the most hated teams in the NFL right now but they win championships consistently. I would take that in a heartbeat. As too Cutler, as long as he continues to win and lead the Bears to the playoffs with a chance at a title im sure they dont care either.

There is no way the moron did not know something was wrong. He had all of the classic signs, of it, how did the doctors give him a pass losing that much weight (30#) over a couple of months.
To me it means either the doctors trainers coaches were blind, dead and dumb.
Or jay has his head in the sand and did not want to know what was going on. He ducked his eoy physical or at least the blood test.

Yeah I'm sure he wanted to have diabetes left untreated and how in the world do you have so much knowledge about what or how the doctors treated him? All that is confidential between him,his doctors and the team.
Fine if you don't like the way he played or if you don't like him as a person but IMO you're grasping for straws.
