View Full Version : Green Bay vs Steelers. Who wins the Superbowl?

DenBronx

Both teams are tough and physical.

Green Bay I think wins this one. The Packers defense will create more pressure on Ben and their offense will be harder to stop then the Jets, who almost came back and won. The Pack has a better D-line and quicker LB's. Plus Woodson is still at the top of his game. Rogers is a hungry little elf that wants to eat a Lombardi trophy. I just think the Pack will want it more.

Who do you pick and why?

Green Bay win.

Hopefully Favre realizes that if he wouldn't have worn out his welcome there, he might have had a chance to go out on top.

No one.

We all lose because its 1 team that goes to often and another that the media cant stop fondling their QB.

2 weeks of rodgers ball stroking and 2 weeks of forgeting Big Bens Bathroom adventures.

Sigh, should be a good game but I cant stand either of the teams.

I can't stand them either and I think Big Ben is a tool. I also hate the whole terrible towel thing.

But, I think GB matches up well with them and Jennings will be harder to stop then Holmes was.

QB- both have franchise caliber signal callers.... a wash.
RB- Pittburgh by a mile
WR, TE- both have a good mixture of youthful speed and veteran savvy, slight edge to the Steelers because of Heath Miller.
O-lines- Steelers have better run blocking, Pack has better pass blocking... a wash.
Defense- both have amazing defenses.... a wash.
Coaching- Steelers have the edge, and the experience. I can't think of one position as a whole that Green Bay has an edge on Pittsburgh.

That is why I chose Pittsburgh to win. Those that chose against them, it was mostly because you hate Pittsburgh. Why not choose who you THINK will win, not who you want to?

Both Rogers and Big Ben had terrible stats today but both found a way to win. Both threw two INTs and had QB rating in the 50's. Ben didnt even crack 200 yards passing.

I hope to God we stick with the 3-4 and bring in Trgovac. Waiting two weeks would be worth it. Defenses are extremely critical to winning in the NFL.

I said WR/TE.

Wallace and Jennings are comparable threats...

Driver and Ward are comparable vets...

G.B. may have better depth after those guys at the WR position, but Heath Miller is the only TE worth noting for both teams. If Jermichael Finley were healthy, I would give G.B. the nod.

Well they do match up very closely stat wise on offense, defense and player vs player.

Very close but I still think GB will want it more.

I think the Steelers will win this one, but it will be a good game. They have the experience of being there and winning, plus they have a balanced offense and great defense. The only area where the Packers are better is the QB, but Big Ben has the experience.

All that being said, I want the Packers to win.

After 16 regular season games and 3 playoff games, the Packers have still never been behind by more than 7 points at any point in time. That's an incredible stat. It doesn't mean the Packers will win but it does mean the odds of them getting blown out are fairly small and in that sense, it creates a lot of scenarios where they are likely the winner.

2) I want Charles Woodson to get his ring. He wuz robbed here, three times unofficially once officially, and he deserves one. I think he'll be the first player to win the Heisman, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, National Championship and Superbowl.

Kind of how many of us feel about Bailey. He deserves a ring and if he went somewhere like Balt and won one I would be happy for him....but still sad it wasn't with Denver.

On Woodson, that's actually an amazing accomplishment. I hope he gets superbowl MVP too.

I like a lot of role players on both teams.

I love Tomlin. He made the best of a great situation and he makes owls jealous.

For each ring the Rooneys get, Al Davis kills a kitten. So that's cool.

I like virtually everyone on Green Bay, but Woodson is special to me. He was the last jersey I brought with a current name on it, and because he left, I wait for the player to retire before I buy one. You just never know who stays and who goes. Woodson had a chance to turn the Superbowl around back in 02. He intercepted a Brad Johnson's pass but only returned it 15 or so yards. If he wasn't playing with a cracked fibula, that was an easy pick 6 early on and who knows what would've happened. He was also torched by Keenan McCardell in that game and it was obvious the injury hurt his performance. Now he gets to play healthy and I think he'll beast.

similar to what SF did to Joe Montana wanting to get Steve Young under center ??

Teams need to know if players like Favre are going to retire before the start of free agency so they know what kind players they need to look for. That means that he needed to let GB know before the end of February of each of his final years with them. The latest that Farve could have waited without hurting his team is about a week or two before the draft. That gave him until the end of March or first of April to make up his mind. GB finally got sick and tired of Favre waiting until the start of training camp before making up his mind if he wanted to come back.
