Damn, I feel so bad for Pat Bowlen now that I've finally seen him speak. He's just not the guy he was. Age and whatever illness (I suspect Alzheimers) he's suffering from have really taken a toll on him.

I love you, Pat! Thanks for bringing John Elway back! :salute:

Believes in running the ball but understands you have to have good balance to win in this League.

That's because they haven't actually posted the link to the recorded press conference. They still have the live link up on Broncos.com. They won't have the recorded link up for a few hours at least.

Very enthusiastic. Did'nt seem burned out in the least. Cracking jokes here and there.

Also, from hearing him, he seemed to have a good idea in the areas where we need to improve the most. Especially by mentioning on several occassions our 32nd ranked defense. Not like that takes a genious but still....

Elway said he received alot of tweets from former players under Coach fox and had nothing but great things to say about him. Elway was pretty happy by his expressions.

Not impressed. Guy just rubs me the wrong way. Hopefully he doesn't last long in Denver.

Well that's the best press conference that's been held by a head coach here in at least two years, and I'd venture more like ten. I thought people said he sucked at this and was boring?

Maybe they just didn't know what we'd be comparing him to. Shanny was a terrible pontificator, and Josh was...Josh.

The lack of lip-smacking was appreciated. :salute:

It’s safe to say John Fox is a big Tim Tebow fan

In more than 30 years of coaching, John Fox said Tim Tebow was the only player who ever offered to pick up the tab when they went out for dinner.

In less than 30 minutes of speaking Friday, the new Broncos coach made it clear he’s an even bigger Tebow fan now than he was at draft time.

“The thing that’s impressive about Tebow is that he’s not afraid to be great,” Fox said. “He has as good intangibles as any athlete I’ve ever been around.”

Tebow came by the Broncos building on Thursday to meet with Fox and the coach sounded smitten. Fox also said positive things about Kyle Orton later in his introductory press conference.

“The quarterback situation is better than the one — some of the ones — that I’ve been at,” Fox said. (Translation: Thanks Jimmy Clausen!)

Fox also likes the wideouts: “This may be as good a corps as I’ve been with,” Fox said. (Translation: Thanks Dwayne Jarrett!)

On defense, Fox said wasn’t committing to a 3-4 or 4-3 defense, and was just worried about adding talent.

The mile high air seemed good for the veteran coach, who looked refreshed and energized to be out of Carolina. He mentioned he’d “like to forget” last season.

“I’m extremely competitive, Fox said. “I want to jump back in and erase that.”

Fox sounded like a confident man, one who has been around long enough to know not every coach gets a chance to erase 2-14.

That is what I thought at the John Elway presser. As a Broncos fanatic, it's sad to watch. :(

Elway said on his radio show this morning that they sent out a bunch of feelers to former players, current players, former coworkers, coaches, etc and that they got nothing but good in response.

Take it at face value, because I doubt he would say differently if someone said something bad.

I've got a feeling that if the Broncos had done that before hiring McDaniels, they may have reconsidered their approach. I have a feeling that, other than Bellicheat himself, all they would've heard were "four letter words" when describing him.

Since he rubs you the wrong Denver obviously made the right choice. If you had been impressed then I would have been worried. :D

Fox will be good for Denver... it has been a long time since the guy who as head coach had the primary concern of ... well, coaching!

Seemed like a lot more flash than substance in Denver for the last 10 years... a lot more talk than getting down to business and coaching up players.. Fox also seemed to know a fair amount about our roster... which is impressive.

It appears both Fox and Denver are natural allies here: They both want to prove that last year is not going to define them. That's a good thing.

They chopped Bowlen's intro on NFL.com--I didn't get to see this live. All I have heard about it was that he said little more than a few words.

He really handled himself well today. HE was engaging and not boring...so much better than Mcdaniels and his habitual lip smacking...Fox is polished with no annoying mannerisms..what a relief...
