View Full Version : Any Given Sunday...

... any team can win.

I saw a bitter post by a Boltz fan... who wrote angrily...
"Why are you even talking about Sunday? It is a MEANINGLESS game for both teams?"

LOL

Chargers are reeling from the getting knocked out of the playoffs.
For them... they ARE now playing a meaningless game.
For us ... it is another chance, the final chance this season, for
Tebow to get experience... for Decker and Squid and Ayers.

This is huge game for the Broncos... going against a respected defense.
We will be playing against Ron Rivera.. who is in the running for HC.

This is our own little bowl game... a chance to BEAT the Chargers,

For Denver fan... we are excited and happy to play Sunday.
Charger fan is nothing but upset, disapointed, and blue...
with no real reason to even watch.

IF... a mighty big IF... we could beat them... it would be huge.
If not... eh... we get the better draft pick and the Rooks got more work.

Win - Win either way. :defense:

Yea, pretty meaningless game but i would LOVE for Tebow to get his very first win against a division rival. That within itself would be icing on the cake that is the epic failure of Chargerland.

I don't thinki we'll be seeing an impassioned Charger team on Sunday. If we win it will be because they didn't give us their best, so I kinda hope we lose.

(:sarcasm:)

And....

for the Chargers...

it would add insult to injury...
getting beat by the "lowly Broncos".

They can whine that it means nothing...
but in their whole off season they can fear
the power of a new Bronco Team under Captain Tebow.

I already saw on their board some Boltz fans are worried about the future with Tebow....
one fan wrote...
"I sure hope they trade Tebow and go back to Orton next year..."

LOL

I imagine they'll be upset about missing the playoffs, and also won't want to be shown up by some rookie.

I imagine they'll come to play.

I would love to win though. That would be awesome.

I am sorry. I do not care how you want to spin it. It is a meaningless game on many levels.

I guess that depends on how you look at it. 'Spin' it if you want.

Meaningless on many levels... sure. Meaningless as a whole though?

It means something to me if my team wins. That's why they call me a fan.

He or she's just preparing for the loss. The Chargers and their fans are a bunch of losers and they know it.

I meant for the teams it was meaningless. I was not trying to state it was meaningless for fans. Based on the fact that our team will have a new coaching staff what we do now will in no way carry over to the new season. It will be different rendering what we do now to be moot.

The same goes for SD. There is speculation that they may have a new coaching staff come next season also so again what they do this coming game will have no impact or relevance to next season. (It would not surprise me one bit if there DC moves on to a coaching position somewhere else)

I have seen it a lot over the years where teams want to "finish the season strong" to build a foundation for next year, only to see that same team fail to do anything when the next season began. Too much can change between the end of one season and the start of another to ever think how you end one season is how you will also begin the next. There is too much unknown.

Hence, why this upcoming game is meaningless for both teams.

I am not preparing for a loss. Rather I could care less if we win or lose at this point in the season.

I do agree that the sparklers fans are pretty pathetic though. . .

Especially for those in the city by the bay.

For us... it is about crucial player development...
and after a terrible season under McD... a new begining with Tebow.

It is about giving it our all and taking something into the off season that we can hang our hat on.
It is about erasing doubt. It is about pride. It is about who wants to be on this team next year.
This is a starting point for us... not an ending.

For you guys... yeah.. I can imagine you are having trouble finding any meaning in this throwaway game.

The posters location...
California...
I understand that.

He seems invested in the Chargers, however.

I still wanted to reply to his tepid antipathy.

Thanks , though.

The problem is that if the Broncos win and/or Tebow has an average to good game, folk will just say the Chargers didn't show up so it didn't mean anything. If the Chargers WIN and/or Tebow has a mediocre to poor game people will just say that's what happens when he faces an actually GOOD defense! Kind of a no win situation for the kid. Still, I'm hoping he has a good game win or lose. People can say it doesn't matter all they want but at the end of the day it's still an NFL game and an NFL defense just like the Texans and Raiders were.

Go Broncos!

Hoping for something like this:

Chargers 24
Broncos 31

I wish the Chargers still had a chance to make the playoffs. That would make beating them anything but meaningless.

I ain't tryin' to spin
but I want my team to win
The game to some might be meaningless
but a win is never useless

If for no other reason I want the bragging rights for the rest of the off season.

Good points..
but it dont matter... they all disrespect us out of hand.

Look how long they made Floyd Little wait at the HOF?
If it had not been for Elway making it.. Floyd would never have been let in.

It does not matter what those clowns all think of us...
it just matter what WE think of us...
and how we get better in this off season.

GO BRONCOS
BEAT THE BOLTZ :defense:
