The "try harder" spot

Heading into their final two games, the Broncos are in the No. 2 overall draft position.
A look at the players selected at No. 2 in the previous 10 drafts:

YEAR PLAYER POS. TEAM
2010 Ndamukong Suh DT Lions
Should win NFL defensive rookie of the year.

2009 Jason Smith OT Rams
Moved to right tackle. Plagued by concussions and now ankle.

2008 Chris Long DE Rams
A tad light against the run but has 7 1/2 sacks this year.

2007 Calvin Johnson WR Lions
An elite receiver who could use a quarterback.

2006 Reggie Bush RB Saints
Not a bust but one of many players selected too high in this draft.

2005 Ronnie Brown RB Miami
Solid, but oft-injured and never an impact player.

2004 Robert Gallery OT Raiders
The worst player on this list.

2003 Charles Rogers WR Lions
No, this is the worst player. Back-to-back collarbone injuries, pot shortened career.

2002 Julius Peppers DE Panthers
The best player on this list. He has been the Bears' MVP this year.

2001 Leonard Davis G-T Cardinals
Three Pro Bowls and 153-game starter in fourth season with Cowboys.
