Folks, was looking at the 2011 Free agent QB's and there is one guy that is a UFA that I'd like as the Broncos QB (if we can't get Luck)... Kevin Kolb. I'd certainly prefer him over Orton (and potentially Tebow). Thoughts?

Kolb will be too high a price. Do we really need a re-tred?

Was that necessary? How is Kold a retred? He's 26 years old. Even if the team commits to Tebow for 2011, we are still going to need a top end backup.

It's gonna be Tebow....We are going after defensive help this offseason, and Tebow's gonna get a chance to prove himself for the next 2 years before we sign him long term or give up on him.

Kolb...has lost his job twice this year to Vick due to poor play. He'll get a chance somewhere else to start. He wont come here to backup, and he'll get "starters money".

quit it with the QB threads... Tebow is the QB of the future for this team...

I don't know much on Kolb. Name rings a bell, that's about it.

Kolb never lost his job due to poor play.

Kolb got hurt in the first game which Vick came in and played lights out and took over the starting job, then he got hurt. Kolb came in and played solid yet again until Vick was healthy.

Kolb lost his job due to Vick playing at an elite level. Not for his performance.

Kolb is a solid QB. Luck is almost certain to do well in the NFL. Tebow is our QB however, and the vast majority of the Broncos roster sucks major ass. Please, I'm a'beggin', fix our broke D-line, ship out @ half of our LB corps, replace some ancient DB's as needed, complement Moreno, bring in a fast pass catching TE, upgrade O-Line, hire a real GM and HC...

...but leave our QB situation the friggin' Hell alone. That at least should be settled for the next couple of years. Alluding back to the McD hire, my first question for a potential HC is this;

"Can you tell me how you plan to develop this raw talent?"

The answer can be almost anything except any variation of "I don't think Tebow can play in the League. I want [fill in the blank] instead"

If that is the answer the response should then be "Thank you for your interest in coaching the Denver Broncos. We expect to make a decision soon, and will apprise you in writing. Good luck in all your future endeavors"

Your right he got hurt the first game.....:)

After the Tennessee game he did get benched tho, of course his bad day give Reid the excuse to bench him. You really think he'll come her to back up?

Kolb will probably over paid by a team like the Vikings. Plus he's more suited for the west coast offense....Then again I don't know what the next Broncos coach will implement here. But I don't see Denver picking him up because of the cost and they have Tebow who will put butts in the seats at Invesco.

IMO - it would be totally stupid to take a QB with the first pick - as Dread said - there are so many other holes that need to be filled. If the Broncos feel they need a backup QB, free agency should fulfill that. Not many QB's could do what Elway did - carry the team on his shoulders for so many years. So - draft players, sign free agents, on offense and defense, and build the team around the QB.

If Orton goes, probably need to sign someone as a backup. Quinn ins't solid enought

Wow...one above-average game (rushing not passing) and this whole board is set on him as a starter going forward. Guess we'll see but I'm not feeling that this guy is a surefire QB of the future.

Nor is Luck a sure fire hall of famer as many want to believe. And lets also look at the fact that Tebow has been playing against NFL players both yesterday and in the preseason while Luck has been playing against college players.

Its more than the numbers... its the leadership that got many of us on his side.

Tebow deserves a season to prove or disprove he can be the guy.

It's not like this team is only a QB short of the Super Bowl.

You could throw darts at a depth chart and chances are you'd hit an area of need.

I will take a guy who as he gets more reps with his receivers and settles in will pass for a decent amount of yards and when the play gets busted up calmly runs it 40 yards for the TD.

First off.... As a first round pick we have to see what he really is. Sadly, we have been set back a whole year right now. Playing TPQB all year long as we inglouriously went down in flames gave us little if any hope to really see what he can do. One play here or one play there....does not a NFL qb make.

IMHO we will not see what Tim is untill say week 4-5 next year. and then it might be too late for that year.

Defense....first- 112th rounds and then trade for more defense. You can win with good defense/ bad O, you cannot win with good offense/ bad D.

I think Kevin Kolb will be a pretty decent QB for a team like Minnesota. He looked great last season playing for McNabb when he was injured. Good arm, decent mobility, quick reads... He's not a bad player.

Not sure on the rules but I suspect he will just go by way of Casel. Franchised then traded.
