I do that as well..... actually began to do that because i got so frigging sick of listening to people talking about private matters on cell phones.
Still, there are some songs that really aren't that great when you listen to them at normal volume and insanely cool if you listen to them very loudly.

sure..... anything new is cool. I just feel like I am rediscovering music because I havent really had that sense of wowness and kinda fell off the wagon and stopped listening to new stuff, if you know what i mean.
I kinda heard all the old and great things in my early twenties..... then there was nothing new that really stood out except maybe one or two.

id say white stripes and to a lesser extent franz ferdinand have a lot of new wave inspiration. id say that "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley is in the same niche.
Hope that helps you out.
Damn, what is it anyway with calling a song "Crazy". Both the Gnarls Barkley and Seal song are great!

I like Puttin on the Ritz

No matter, post away! There may be some Hip Hop song I like. There is one that I do like, but don't know the name or the group.

It's something about "gives her big booty a smack" and goes "low low low low low..."

My Disclaimer: I am more open to Hip-Hop/R&B than country. Blech.

no.. where?

Its actually a bassline that was used in the original soundtrack for Planet of the Apes with Charlton Heston. The next time you watch that listen for it and you will laugh your ass off.

great thread. I have already got five new favorites.

The Hives Die "Die, Allright!". is so energetic it reminds me the first time I heard "thunderstruck" by AC/DC.
