May I just say yall should be in for a treat with quick not only on the field but off. This guy, as yall have probably seen, is not only fast but can accelerate very quickly, and can shift gears in a split second. If you ever meet him, he is probably one of the most enjoyable people to talk to. I hope yall enjoy quick (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXolVVo_7WE&feature=related), because we will miss seeing him (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ff7fS06deQ&feature=related) play on Saturdays (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPW61dJaFi4&feature=related).

Lets hope he makes the team so we can watch him play on Sundays.

2010,
Thanks for stopping in... it's good to hear a long-term perspective about our guys than just a quick 4 question's worth of "insight" from the press. You watched him play during his college years, and still think he's a good dude... From what I've heard, I hope he does make the team. If Royal is gonna be more WR (if he's listed as a starter or even a 3, imo his days as a return man are numbered) than a return guy, what is Aldridge's game like for that?

I wouldn't say that. Rod was our #1 WR and he returned punts. I think Shanny will put the best guy on the field. If Fast Eddie is the best option at PR, then I think he will be on the field (no matter where he is in the depth chart).

I personally hope we use Aldridge as a scat and 3rd and long back. If it means we have to cut a guy like Pittman, then so be it. Pittman was pretty terrible on Sat night.

I love the speed we have on this team. It allows Shanny to become creative with the playbook to get the ball in these guys' hands. Should be fun to watch.

Uh, I don't think there is any question as to whether he makes the team or not.

He certainly can help us on special teams and fill the role of a scat back...but if he doesn't hold onto the football he won't be in the NFL for long.

Speed always make the game fun to watch, but the run in that clip seemed to highlight good line play and defensive mistakes, which are things that seem to determine more of how the season goes for us.

Still, it seems like we could use a dose of speed to keep things spread out and the defense on their toes. Plus, my in laws are both UH alum, so I have a soft spot for a hard worker from an underdog school like that. I hope he continues to impress on this level.

With this line of thinking, I would put Champ back there, at least when he first got here... I knew someone would bring up Rod doing this, but truthfully, he doesn't have many memorable punt returns (except for the muffed fair catch call in the SB)...
I agree, he'll put the best guy on the field at it, but not someone who would leave a large hole if there was an injury. Nevertheless, you have your opinion, and that's cool.
But what I'm really fishing for is an answer as to whether Aldridge is any good at returning kicks, cause believe me, from the vids I've seen, Royal absolutely is. Just food for thought.
