Looks like they flew into Houston Ellington for the game on a United 763, which is the standard plane for away trips. Left yesterday at 1:14 and landed in Houston a little after 4. My sources say the flight was uneventful.

You mean along the flight path? Weather probably. The weather you see in the image is not the weather during the flight.

If I'm not mistaken, there is usually alot of turbulence flying into Denver because of the Rocky Mountains, no?

i thought the airport in houston was called KFED. it's not.

Not really flying to the east. The afternoon is tough over the mountains due to high temp convections, I believe.

There is three:

Houston Intercontinental (far too north from Reliant).
Houston Hobby (Close to Reliant, but may not be able to handle a 763).
Houston Ellington (Closed AFB I think, and fairly close to Reliant).

Ah ok.

Here in Europe you don't usually get much turbulence, however, flying over the Alps can be pretty bumpy. Usually mountain ranges cause more turbulence due to cold winds off of the peaks.

I have flown from Denver many times mostly to Las Vegas and Los Angels . i have also flown to Miami and Dallas . The turbulence is a lot worst flying to the west coast over the mountains then flying to the east.

Yeah that's what I would assume.

The deviation you see over the dallas area is where they picked up the arrival into the Houston area. Usually you can fly directly to places through the use of GPS but when you get closer to bigger cities ATC needs to assign you to a predetermined path that eases congestion when flying into bigger cities. Same thing happened when they flew the departure out of Denver. Couldn't go directly to the Houton area until they finished the departure out of Denver which had them making a slight deviation somewhere around the Springs/Pueblo area.

As for the turbulence, yeah, flying over the mountain wave can be home to some of the worst turbulence in the world.

I would imagine the Jet stream has something to do with turbulence stronger going West..I fly back and forth at least once a year...I dont notice anything. It's only a 2 hour flight.

Thanks for the tracker, Dinner.

Did you see the plane fly over you, NTL?

I texted Reggie, and told him to take a dump and flush right when they are flying over your house.
