Happy B-Day late.

What Italian place did you go to? There's a real great place I enjoy hitting when we are in El Paso (on Montana I think), but I can't remember it's name now to save my life. Little old place in an old house. .. .great food.

If there's another great Italian place I need to know so I can go hit it next time.

trattoria out on Montana about a 1.5 mile past the airport .. about a block form Griggs the great Mexican place between Hawkins and Mcrea on Montana.

The other one your thinking of is more downtown Capettos and is OK but they have really added to many tables in the rooms and it is two loud to have a nice quiet dinner.. crowded and frankly the food IMO is not all that great, is OK. But not worth the drive. and trying to find a safe parking spot..

This place is in front of Michelinos where we know the owners and that has good food also and is quieter than Capettos..

We only tripped across this place because we went to the other place and it was not yet open for dinner.. went in and started to order when the chef came out and asked if we would like to try something new she was experimenting on.... It was great we have been going there since..

We walk in the door are shown to "our" table and get great service an really good food.. had a Italian sausage sandwich last night that, BTW will eat the other half in a few minutes.. they remember what we like and ask if we want our usual do not have to explain each time that want crumbled blue cheese and no olives in the salad..

Last night was the first time that the chef/owner did not come out and say hi during our meal.. But they were pretty busy last night..

The place was once a gas station and it looks kind cheesy inside but the service and food is great. Kind of pricey dinner for two no booze with salads and desert was 36 before tip.. But my daugther paid what a surprise that was..
