Indianapolis Colts safety Melvin Bullitt, Bob Sanders' replacement and the team's special teams captain, is out for the season after breaking a bone in his right shoulder Sunday in Jacksonville, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Wow, if this is true then the Colts D and special teams probably are in serious trouble. Not sure P. Manning and the offense will be able to score enough points every game to win when the Colts D can't stop the opposing team's offense and force them to punt rather than score points. I am not sure P. Manning can play perfect and score points on essentially every drive like they will have to if the loss of Bullitt makes their Defense even weaker and worse.

What do you think? Do you think this may be the year the Colts fail to make the playoffs?

I think I wish denver was playing them this week, instead of the chefs. Could be a big win for them, and an unheard of 4-0 start.
I've alwayss said luck plays a BIG part in the NFL.

The Colts aren't very good. I think this may very well be a year they don't make it. Not uncommon for the Super Bowl loser to finish the next season out of the playoffs. Pretty common. Right now, the Colts just don't look good, and haven't all year.

they've had a number of years where they looked like ass early, and they never miss the playoffs. . . this defense won't be the worst manning has put on his back, even if they all get hurt. . .

plus, they're still in a winnable AFCS. And they play way better at home, where they get Hou/jax/tenn still. Has manning ever been beaten 2x by a team in the regular season??
