What is Wrong with Brandon Marshall’s Foot?
Posted in Broncos Blog by Kyle on Tue Jul 29th :: Edit this

What seemed like a happy-go-lucky anecdote on the team’s official blog yesterday actually has me a bit concerned. Brandon Marshall took off his right shoe Tuesday, and ran several drills to end the afternoon practice with only his left shoe.

At first glance, it’s nothing to sweat over. Just another comical display of personality by a budding star. But compare yesterday’s news with this little AP story from the first day of camp, and I’m beginning to grow concerned that Marshall is fighting through some sort of foot injury that has yet to be reported:

Brandon Marshall, whose offseason was marred by a serious arm injury, another run-in with the law and a summons to the commissioner’s office, was gassed throughout the Friday morning workout, taking a knee after just about every route he ran.

When it was over, Marshall trudged off the practice fields with his right shoe in his hand, saying he couldn’t stop to speak with reporters because he had to go see a doctor.

Color me crazy, but that’s two specific incidents that seem to indicate that something is wrong with Marshall’s right foot. To this point, the unconfirmed injury hasn’t slowed him down on the field - in fact, Marshall has been spectacular by most accounts. But it’s another thing to keep an eye on with #15 - as if we didn’t have enough eyes on him already.

What, you didn't know, that's his LEAD foot!....ha ha ha.....but seriously. I'm sure it's nothing. He didn't have a problem going 80 yards for a Td the other day right?

Maybe there was just a defect in the shoe.

If it was that serious I don't think he would be fully participating in camp. I would think the #1 priority for Brandon would be to get him healthy...he is young and can get in shape pretty fast without having to go through all of TC.

Its nothing, No need for him to visit Goodell over running routes with one shoe.

Actually, according to another blog CR posted, one of the young ball boys "stole" his shoe, has in the afternoon practice he and several other Broncos (including Champ) were throwing the ball around and joking with them. Marshall stole a couple of their hats and was wearing them around backwards and sideways, so it appears one of them jokingly got revenge and stole his shoe. I can't confirm that this is true, but it makes sense. If true, it goes to show that Marshall really is a good kid that has just made (several) dumb mistakes.

"Brandon Marshall also enjoyed the light afternoon practice joking around with several of the ball boys by stealing their caps and putting them on their heads backwards and sideways.

Maybe one of the ball boys had their vengence on Marshall because for no apparent reason the receiver completed the remainer of practice, three plays, only wearing his left shoe."

I'm hoping this is the true story. :D

Even if it is an injury he will likely have 2-8 weeks off for it to heal.

my thoughts precisely.

One would think that wearing one shoe to practice could lead to yet another injury with slips or damage done to the foot not having protection..

And the comment about having to go see the doctor .. Was it for the foot or arm?

OR HEAD?

:D Wouldn't Jay just be pleased if Marshall got hurt again?
