Steelers' Harrison fined $5,000 for slamming Young
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has been fined $5,000 for slamming Titans quarterback Vince Young to the turf while sacking him Sunday.
Harrison was not penalized on the play, but Titans coach Jeff Fisher questioned on Monday why the former All-Pro linebacker wasn't called for unnecessary roughness.
Harrison was chosen as the AFC defensive player of the week after having two sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a tackle for a loss and 11 tackles as the Steelers won 19-11.

Hmmmm.same behavior we saw in preseason, and the season before that, and the season before that.
Tell me again why this guy isn't a dirty player.

Some believe John Lynch is a dirty player too. Wah, boo. Give me a LB with attitude and create that much chaos anyday of the week.

Because he plays for the Steelers, not the Ravens.
He is a dirty player.
But what he did to Orton wasn't dirty.
Much like you can be a smart QB and throw a stupid INT. Or a graceful WR who runs a route and falls on his face after tripping over his own damn shoes.

But doesn't it say something when the officials on the field don't even throw a flag but the league office hands down a fine? Either the officials saw nothing wrong or the league is overreacting. I've only seen the replay once so I can't comment on the play but I'm tired of seeing plays interpreted one way on the field and another way by the league office.

s do the officials have great view of all plays the angle might be bad or they flat miss it.
I'd hate to have to know it all and be expected never. To make a mistakewaey to much happening with so many bodies moving at warp sped.
Glad he was fined as for very time he is they miss 5 times as many.

He's a hard nosed player. People now days want to call it "dirty." THey would have quit watching football in the'70s if they think this guy is dirty. Give me a DIRTY LB any day, if he plays like this.
That was not a dirty hit, nor a dirty play. Thats football. Thats what I want to see from MY LBs on the field. Thats how you intimidate from the defensive side of the ball. GIve me a Harrison, a Romanowski, and a Butkus ANY day of the week and I'll live with the "he's dirty" talk while our defense keeps smashing people in the mouth.
