anyone know why the scum of the NFL could not use this kid?

who replaced him he seems to have been almost a leader in stats for the team last year. certainly as good as any of ours (except dooms sacks)

get caught with someones wife or stealing luggage?

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz had some kind things to say about Jason Hunter. The Lions had released Hunter Monday and he was signed Thursday by the Broncos.

Schwartz said in the Lions’ re-vamped defensive line Hunter was going to get caught in a squeeze with roster cuts on the horizon. Hunter started nine games for the Lions last season, the first starts of his NFL career.

“Jason played a nice role for us last year,” Schwartz said. ” … He’s a good, hard worker; he’s a really tough guy. He did a nice job for us last year, but our defensive line is in a little different position than we were in than last year.”

At 271 pounds Hunter will get a look at outside linebacker in the Broncos scheme and had worked at the position some when Green Bay went from a 4-3 scheme to a 3-4 during his time with the team. The Lions played him at left defensive end during training camp in their 4-3.

During his three seasons in Green Bay Hunter was one of the Packers’ best special teams players having led the team with 25 special teams tackles in 2007.

i'm not familiar with the guy, but he sounds like a darrell reid type of player-- probably a guy they're hoping can fill a similar role if reid's not healthy. . .

this guy is indeed basically what we wanted out of reid. a dominant special teamer that can come in and rush the passer sometimes. 34 tackles and 5 sacks? I hope he can bring that shit here man because no matter how you put it thats solid stats for a backup.

Jason Hunter moving up
By MIKE KLIS
Indications are the Broncos will be moving Jason Hunter into more playing time _ either as a starter or on passing downs _ at the outside linebacker position opposite Robert Ayers in their 3-4 system.

It’s not a surprise. Hunter, who turned 27 last week, is a converted defensive end who had five sacks from the Detroit Lions’ 4-3 system last season.

The Broncos signed him as a free agent on Aug. 19, three days after he was released by the Lions.

Hunter had two sacks for Green Bay in 2008. His increased role figures to come at the expense of Jarvis Moss, the Broncos’ first-round draft pick in 2007. It was thought Moss was ready to have a break-out year after he recorded just 3 1/2 sacks in his first three seasons.

But earlier this month, Moss suffered a broken hand the practice after he replaced the injured Elvis Dumervil, who had suffered a torn pectoral muscle.

Hunter also could be filling the role vacated by linebacker Darrell Reid, a converted defensive lineman who had four sacks for the Broncos last year.

Reid has missed the entire offseason and preseason to mend from left knee surgery. He is a candidate to start the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, which would give him six more weeks to heal.

Great! I like Hunter. However, I would like to see Mays and Hunter play together on defense.
