welcome to the League of Legends!

this will be the second year for this deep IDP league. . . for those of you that played last year, it's good to have you back! for the first-time participants, welcome aboard! the rules are similar to last year's, but there have been a few slight changes, so everybody should read them over carefully. . .

for the newcomers, congratulations on your recently-aquired legendary status-- if you have questions regarding proper behavior for a legend, please feel free to ask Emancipator, the original Living Legend. . . .


this will be a standard head-to-head league using the fleaflicker site. . . . the live online draft is set for WED AUG 27 at 9 PM Eastern Time-- if you can't make the draft, it's highly recommended that you take the time to pre-rank your players on the league draft site. . . this will be a 25-round draft with 16 picks per round (standard snaking every round), so plan some extra time-- this one will take a while. . . . given the added importance of depth in a league of this size, my personal opinion is that it's best to stay through the entire draft if you can, or at least rank a good number of players before you leave the draft room. . . .

six out of sixteen teams will make the playoffs, with the top two seeds receiving a first round bye. . . the playoffs will be weeks 14 and 15, with the championship game in week 16. . .

Did you try using a combo of letters, numbers and special characters..? It's a pain but sometimes that's what they require. Although my password is really simple so not sure what the deal is...

everyone has signed in to that league within the last week except for ninjapiratefunk and doris (and my friend dave, but he's been on his honeymoon in bali for the past ten days)-- i'm not worried about NPR, and doris won't bail on us. . . she couldn't remember what leagues she's in if it was tattooed on her foreheqad, but i'll send her a dozen PMs and emails on draft day and the preceding day-- that should work. . . . :D

It's your league, so obviously you should continue to do whatever you've been doing in the interest of consistency... But it seems to me that it's more "fair" to simply let the roster suffer from inactivity than it is to have another person in the league managing multiple teams...

Well, I haven't seen if you're making waiver wire transactions or not-- but if you're adding/subtracting players to his team then obviously that is a conflict of interest because you're actively making changes based on your judgement...

Basically that's my argument in general, even if you aren't making waiver wire moves, just starting/sitting players is all based on your judgement and thus it's like we're managing against you multiple times...

Either way, no big deal... But if it were my league, I would just let those teams suffer and if a team sits untouched the whole year, then I'll just know not to let them in again next year.

this IS FF, but i'm guessing you mean "how is this different from the 'normal' FF that i've played?". . . it's the same game, but with individual defensive players added. . . so instead of drafting a team defense, you draft the specific players, just like you do with the offensive guys, and you have so many roster spots that you fill each week. . . they score for tackles, sacks, passes defensed, interceptions, forced and recovered fumbles, as well as touchdowns. . .

this league will be in its fourth year running-- it's an annual league dating back to mania-- so the spots are filled unless someone vacates them. . . typically a few spots do open in most leagues each year, although mine don't get as much turnover as they used to. . . i have one friend who already requested a spot in this league, and one or two other people i have in mind, but you can have the second spot that opens if they do. . .

and i also do an open forum league that you can join-- i think you might have played in that one last year, didn't you? i'll get the thread for that one up in the next night or so. . .

also, everybody. . . i set the draft date for SAT SEP 4th @ 2:30 PM mountain time (that's 4:30 PM eastern time)!!

i don't necessarily love having it on the weekend, but it's kinda tough with this particular league-- given the high number of players plus the depth of rosters, the draft is far longer than the typical league. . . week nights are tough-- you have to set it no earlier than 5-5:30 PM west coast time, which is already 8 ET, and then the draft can go a few hours. . . i just think it's easier for more people to be there on a saturday afternoon/early evening-- i made it early enough that anyone on the east coast can still be out in time for dinner and drinks, and late enough for anyone on the west coast to get over the brunt of any potential hangover. . . pretty much the best i can do. . .
