Tim Crowder is a really solid Defensive End. Although Moss will be alot more flashy this season and have bigger plays, Tim Crowder will be more solid and play more. I'm really excited to see what he will do in his second year. Hopefully he can really solidify his place on our team.

Thanks for the post.

He was impressive as a rookie. I look for him to get better and better each season. This is a guy that can hold his own against the run, and bring a bit of pass rush along with it. Like the Wook says, he's not flashy, but he does get the job done. I can't wait to see which of the Dlineman break out this year. Crowder is certainly a candidate.

See... there are good, young guys in the NFL.

Another GREAT character guy... maybe Brandon should hang out with Tim a little bit.

Life isn't all about night clubs and partying.

Turning It Up

Tim Crowder showed flashes in 2007.

By Adam Zinser
DenverBroncos.com

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Tim Crowder had a solid initial campaign with the Broncos in 2007, seeing action in 13 games with one start, notching 22 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries, including one returned for a touchdown. Not a bad outing for a rookie thrust into the spotlight of the NFL.

Now with his second year on the horizon, Crowder is ready to turn things up a few notches. But first, he had to wrap up May and June minicamps.

"I think minicamps went great," Crowder said. "Overall, everybody had good and bad days, but everybody improved. I improved, and I already feel better than last year."

Now he can enjoy a little time off before the team reconvenes at Dove Valley for training camp in late July. He plans to enjoy a little of the "real heat and humidity" back home in Texas while visiting with family and friends.

But there's one more thing he and every other player want to do with their time off.

"Just relax," Crowder said, before taking off for Texas. "That's the main thing because training camp will be here before you know it."

Denver selected the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder from the University of Texas with their second round pick (56th overall) last year. He shined in college, starting all four years at Texas and earning first-team All-Big 12 recognition in his final two campaigns.

He came to Denver with high expectations and performed well. His four sacks tied him for fifth in the league among rookies. He recorded sacks in three straight games, something no Bronco had done since 2004. And his 50-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown against Pittsburgh on Sunday Night Football marked the first by a D-lineman since 2002.

But he sees an opportunity to do even more in 2008.

"I ask more of myself," Crowder said. "I want to be able to do more and more each year and just be a dominant player right now."

Of course every player wants to improve his own game, but Crowder also sees improvement from the rest of the defensive line. Crowder looks to work with fellow second-year defensive players Jarvis Moss and Marcus Thomas to improve the defense as a whole. And as minicamps concluded, Crowder liked what he saw out of those guys as well as every other defensive lineman.

"We can be great. We have all the conditions. We have all the great guys. We've got the pass rush. We've got run stoppers," Crowder said. "We have guys that can do it all."

Mix the second-year players in with the rest of the veterans, and the Broncos plan on having a formidable presence lining up across from opposing offenses in 2008.

But before they can take the field and face off against offenses from around the league, they have to make it through training camp and continue to improve. For Crowder, that means raising the bar a little higher each day and doing everything coaches ask of him and more.

"If you do your job, you're helping the team. That's basically what I'm trying to do," Crowder said. "Personal goals come with it."

"I just want to do anything to help the team win."

Well, you know, the Broncos have another pretty good DE, too, in Ekuban.
He might have something to say about that. However, we will be blessed in
that, whoever starts, the backup will be good enough that he should be
starting.

Great write up! Now where can I find out how Marcus Thomas and Javis Moss are both progressing?

I aggree. EE coming off a major injury and getting up in age will be great veteran leadership and will help with knowledge but i dont see him being a starter this year.

I think Crowder has already solidified his position on this team, he played well last year on a ankle sprain. Still held his own.

I do not think crowder has much to worry about after a pretty damned good year last year..

Unless he does something stupid he is a cinch to be on this team this year and perhaps starting..
