I was watching some drum covers of one of my favorite bands right now (All That Remains) and I came across this dude. Fast forward about half way through and he does his cover of a song of theirs called "The Weak Willed" (one of my personal favorites) and he absolutely crushes it. He needs to be hired ASAP IMO.

the best musicians never really play in a band.... I knew of a lot of studio musicians who could play a song really cool in ten minutes. They never really got to play in a band though.

Listening to this drummer really is cool though... the double bass rythms are excellent.....
Really cool find!
edit!
ffs he doesnt even use as double bass pedal.... he really rocks!

The dude is sick. If you click on his name at the top right, watch his video of him doing a song called "Giles" by a band called Unearth. He's got different drums, different symbols, different snares, different bass drum, and a better video camera. He's badass for sure.

EDIT: Here ya go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id9wIg8_-Pg

After you're done watching that, click the first video in the list on the right and watch the band's music video to see what it all sounds like together. He's friggin good.

He's extremely good for the style he plays, thanks for the clips. IMHO, I hate his kit set-up though, especially his cymbals. He's rocking for sure, if I still loved shredding (I occasionally do) making music with him would be a blast. Not really my type, but a very, very good player!

No matter how fast, stylish, cool, or whatever a drummer is he has to keep good time! Put a metronome on him. If he doesn’t maintain good time, the rest doesn’t matter. The first guy didn’t keep the beat. If the second guy had keep the same beat through the whole seven minutes it would have been very impressive!

It's the same guy. The seven minute video was a solo...just random shit. The audition tape (the 8+ minute video) was songs that he was playing and played to a t.

The two vids seemed different to me. In the first he just did shit. In the second he shifted time twice, but sounded a lot better.

*He also does pretty great drum-overs for "non metal" songs.
