Slim noted that he is on a diet. I consider this earthshattering news, much on par with the breaking of the Second Seal. OTOH, as I approach that level where I might be defined as "fat" I am curious as to his diet secrets. Here is the place

Secret number 1: Eat less. :listen:

I have lost 10ish pounds in the last 3 weeks by following this secret.

Thats pretty revealing. So, like, I don't have to eat poached, unseasoned, unsalted boneless chicken breasts?

No. No one should eat that.

Just hop on the treadmill for 30 minutes in the morning and stop buying potato chips.

Ummm . . . so what do you mean by "10ish"? Plus or minus 9?

Potato chips are EZ. I gave up Nacho Cheese Doritos a few weeks back, which is harder. I also leave for an 8 day cruise Sunday, so I expect to reach full-on "Big Fat Slob" status by the time I return. Restraint will not be observed.

It means I am not really sure, as I am not certain of my exact weight when I started the diet. I am estimating.

You guys should go hiking three times a week, run uphill on a mountain if you're in CO, park far away from your destination and enjoy the walk, and every chance you get you should run, jump, dance, generally be moving at all times.

I don't know why the hell you felt like you needed to insult me with this 'hiking and moving thing', I thought we were friends.

The casualties keep piling up on BF.

I made ham, stuffing and mashed potatoes for dinner. Then I skipped the gym. And i drank two beers.

I think Slim will be proud.

Slim would recommend at least 4 beers per sitting, but no one is perfect.

Just to throw out a suggestion that has always helped me shed a few pounds when I need to:

Don't drink your calories. Drink water, drink black coffee, drink unsweetened tea, etc.

If you're drinking coffee with sugar you're putting an extra 150-200 calories per cup in your system. If you're like me that could add up to anywhere from 600-800 calories per day which is nearly a whole meal.

2 glasses of water before meals. You'll feel full /d eat less. Especially if you eat out. Speaking of which, restaurants give you too big of meals. When they bring your meal, ask them to also bring a leftovers box and put half in it immediately. Lastly.....SLOW D-O-W-N. Enjoy your meal and you'll feel better afterwards.

Chugging 16 oz of water within a couple minutes of waking up boosts your metabolisim up to 24%.

Ive started doing this, and eating at least 25 calories within an hour of waking, and I have felt amazing. Completley awake, and in a good mood on the way to work etc.

I was always told to drink cold water. Told that the body had to work harder because of it. Then on honeymoon cruise last month, told by east european massouse(sp) to drink warm h2o. Didnt breakdown gastric juices but helped digestion/metabolism. So I guess I'll listen to clay and have a glass of both?
