Just got a text from news 4. Gary Miller is reporting that Tom Nalen is getting his knee operated on and will be out 2-3 weeks.

Sounds like a small tear or clean up.

It's probably just a scope, which I hate when they call that sugury.

Just more to confirm this:

Broncos C Tom Nalen will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday, but the team expects him to be ready for training camp.

Trading Chris Myers looks like a bigger mistake than ever. There's no way Denver can be confident in Nalen, 37, recovering quickly. Casey Wiegmann, who the Chiefs didn't think was good enough to retain, will step in.

Hope we don't see a lot of miss snaps again... one thing I worry about with Cutler

And Lichtenstieger is still nursing an injury. I'm not too concerned. Dan Neil had like 14 knee operations. . . plus, I bet Kuper could play center if need be.

If mush-brain makes the final roster I'll be surprised.

or Hamilton...

Good point Bill... I would rather Hamilton at center anyways that way Kuper can line up at LG and Harris gets his shot at RT....it would however cut us thin at tackle till Nalen is able to come back, but at least it would give us an idea if Hamilton is worth keeping around for the near future.

I was more or less pointing out that it's pretty irrational to bank on Ben Hamilton (who is recovering from a serious brain injury) to replace Tom Nalen. I apologize if the term mush-brain offended you.

Ben doesn't have a history of concussions and the Drs said that Ben had no greater chance of another bad concussion than any other player. Maybe the Drs are just spouting propaganda to make Mike feel better about Ben,... but I don't think so.

too bad lichtensteiger isn't healthy-- this would be an ideal chance for him to get some reps. . . .

True, but if he had been healthy he would have been a 2nd or 3rd round pick, and with another team.
