Champ Bailey's next contract won't be easy (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/06/21/champ-baileys-next-contract-wont-be-easy/)

Restricted free agents and young stars get all the attention, but long-time veterans with contracts running out have also been squeezed this offseason.
Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post points out that Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=1925) is under contract for only one more season (http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2010/06/21/elvis-overshadowing-champ-contract-situation/?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=twitter), just like Elvis Dumervil (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=3941). Bailey's situation hasn't received attention for a few reasons:
1. Bailey doesn't make any noise about it.
2. Dumervil is underpaid in 2010, while Bailey makes $9.5 million.
A potential Hall of Famer, Bailey wants to play five more years (http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post/_/id/13875/bailey-remains-patient-in-denver). His next contract will prove tricky. Jones makes the case for Bailey as best defensive player in Broncos history, but the cornerback's skills have declined.
It's never easy for a player and team to agree just how much that decline is worth.
