Pretty much SOP under Shanahan too. Rarely have the Broncos over the past 15+ years had any rookie's not make it for the first day of TC.

Although one year doesn't make a trend, IIRC Ayers and Moreno were both late to training camp last year.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Thursday announced several transactions, including the signing of offensive lineman J.D. Walton, whom they selected in the third round (80th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft from Baylor University. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Also on Thursday, the Broncos waived rookie defensive lineman Jaron Baston and designated fullback Kyle Eckel as waived/injured.

Walton (6-foot-3, 305 pounds) was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy (nation’s best center) and earned first-team All-America honors as a senior in 2009, becoming the first Baylor offensive or defensive player to achieve that status in 18 years.

A three-year starter at center for the Bears, he allowed just three sacks in 721 pass plays during his final two seasons.

He was a first-team all-district and all-county offensive lineman at Allen High School in Allen, Texas, and was born on March 24, 1987.

The Denver Broncos signed third-round center J.D. Walton to a $2.58 million contract and waived rookie defensive lineman Jaron Baston and fullback Kyle Eckel.

Walton received a four-year deal with the standard base salaries of $320,000, $405,000, $490,000 and $575,000 as well as a signing bonus of $798,500, according to a league source.

The total base value of the deal can be boosted by a fourth-year escalator clause.

Well that seems early but good for them. Guess they found some time in the marathon. Deal making with doom to knock this out.
