Since it looks as if I'm gonna be here awhile and no one else is a Bucco fan, might as well represent.

Split the doubleheader with the Braves leaving the Bucs @ 18-20, 5 games out.

They sent John Van Benschoten down after ending the Bucco 7 game win streak single handedly...personally, I wish they'd give the guy the Morris treatment, he's garbage.

Good showing tonight from the Buccos in 10. 1 game away from .500 and only 4 games back.

The bad news is that Ryan Doumit fractured his left thumb and is out indefinitely...his average was .350

The Pirates were 14 - 10 when he starts and 4 - 10 when he doesn't.

I'd like to be able to beat the Cubs just once.

Still, taking two of three from the Cards on the road is something to build on...and solace can be taken in the fact that the Bucs record is better than that of some of the other Maners teams (Padres, Rockies, Tigers, Mariners).

Finally beat the Cubs and have leap-frogged over the Brewers in the standings (Thanks Boston).

This just in for non-Pirates fans....Nate McLouth is for real.

Well, that sucked....but the Bucs will have the Cubbies again at the end of the week and this time at home, where the team is 12 - 8. Jack Wilson will be back in time for that one as well.

In the meantime is a "get healthy" home series against the reeling Brewers, who are 9-15 on the road. Time to reach and solidify the .500 mark and gain some ground on the Astros!

Lets Go Bucs! :D
