View Full Version : Scheduled server downtime Friday AM

Sometime around 8am Central time on Friday (9th) the forum will be off line for 30-60 minutes. This is an upgrade I have been planning for a while, due to some periodic slow downs we are seeing every once in a while.

While I normally try and do most upgrades in the middle of the night, this one has to be within the main support hours of the hosting company (rather than their emergency, after hours staffing, but hopefully will be over with quickly.

One of the things this will do is help prepare things for vBulletin 3.7, which is the new version that was just released. If all goes well, I will be testing the 3.7 upgrade on the backup server this weekend, and depending on how that testing goes (specifically the impact on the High Five and MHS systems), I will decide when to do the actual upgrade, but hopefully it will be withing 2-3 weeks.

Sorry in advance for any irritation tomorrows downtime causes, but hopefully it won't last long.

The first upgrade wasn't successful this morning, so we made second attempt at 9:22, so we wound up with two, 1 hour long down periods this morning instead of one. We should be all set until I do the vBulletin upgrade at some point in the future (2-3 weeks), but I will do that EARLY AM (between 2-5) when the forum is really dead, so few will see any downtime.

I was wondering WTH happened. Thanks for bumping the thread. I was worried some Bronco-hating hacker was messing with all the Broncos forums out there..
