Post your info whenever you hear it. Also, I remember for the past few years, there were sites that had all the UFA's as they signed and they were very accurate. Anyone remember the sites?

Still praying for Micah Johnson.

Interesting that he wasnt taken. I too wouldnt mind it. The Tebow though still stings as we could of gotten a lot of great talent in the 2nd-4th rounds with the picks we gained. The draft was so deep we could of made out like bandits but sold ourself a little short by that pick.

So, 3 TEs but no RBs or LBs? Hmm methinks our UDFA skills weren't very good this year.

So on the roster at RB we have:

Knowshon Moreno - 210 lbs
Correll Buckhalter - 223 lbs (yeah right, closer to 210 lbs)
JJ Arrington - 212 lbs
Lance Ball - 200 lbs
Bruce Hall - 205 lbs

So that means Buckhalter is our "largest" RB? He's our "power" guy? :tsk: Knowshon runs with power but he's not very big.

I hope Tebow's ready, because I think he's going to end up our short yardage RB...

He does look pretty fast in those highlights. I only saw him play a couple times this year, including that Boise State game and he looked a lot slower. Maybe I was wrong...dunno.

Who cares, most of the guys are camp fodder, you might have 1 or 2 guys who make it on the practice squad....maybe one 1 guy in every 5 to 10 years might develope into a starter.

So I would not make too big a deal of the UFA.

Yea, i dont understand either Sneak. The point of the thread is more for the fans than the team. There are members on here who like certain players that werent drafted and just want to express those ideas on here. Its not about who will make or break the Broncos but more of who we would like the Broncos to take a chance on. Its something to talk about which isnt a bad thing.

I care. If McD can find the next Rod Smith, it's worth signing 1000 others who never make a difference. It doesn't have to be a WR. Just a football player that beats all the odds and make it. Phase 3 of the draft.

damn really stoked about alric arnett(dude is a killer route runner..even better than eddie was in college....im sorry folks but i see no way we wont be better on offense next year.....like the chris brown signing as well...he did some good things for the sooners.....I really belive we didnt adress the DL at all becasue MCD feels he has exactly what he needs there

McD said in his press conference that they wanted a LBer in the 2nd or 3rd, but they went off the board early. He said that they have high hopes for Chris Baker in the future, and he likes the Dline rotation. We have a ton of youth in the secondary (or at least in the wings), and the LBers have only 1 player over 30. The defense was pretty well set before the draft, and the corners both add depth to the secondary and kick return game.

On offense, we desperately needed interior line help, and WR help. We got both. It's hard not to be happy with the holes that were filled in the offseason. He confirmed that Haggen will start at Mike, and we signed a vet backup from the FA market today. It looks like Ayers will have his chance to be the man opposite Doom, and the Broncos are high on him also.

it's going to take us time to develop, but i'm definitely encouraged with the number of our most immediate holes that we were able to fill. . . there's no denying we're going to miss marshall's impact, and i still think we need another RB-- hopefully the DL signings will help shore up that side of the ball enough to keep us afloat while we get some of the young guys on offense up to speed. . .

it's nice to at least feel like we're moving more or less in the right direction. . . aside from maybe that RB, next year's draft really needs to be as focused on :defense: as this one was on offense, because the way it is now we're going to hit a point in the next couple of years where that defense gets REALLY old overnight. . . hopefully guys like ayers and baker can progress and show that they can be part of that next wave. . .

Um, did you watch any of his junior year in college? I watched almost all of his games and he was flat out terrible. Trust me, there was a good reason he went undrafted. Plus, he would never see his way above #5 on our depth chart and he would definitely be cut. Besides, he's already been signed by the Bucs anyway.

NEW YORK -- It was still early in the seventh round of the draft Saturday afternoon when Pat Kirwan and I were chatting with Baltimore Ravens director of player personne Eric DeCosta on Sirius NFL Radio. He was very excited to tell us about the players the Ravens had drafted over the last three days, but he did seem a little distracted.

"I've gotta go, guys," he said at the end of the interview. "We're already busy making calls to these guys that haven't been drafted yet."

Teams that waited until after all 255 names were called before evaluating who's left on their draft boards are already behind the eight ball. There will be a mad scramble to sign these rookie free agents. They all are long shots, of course, just to make an NFL roster. But you never know when you will find the next Kurt Warner or Tony Romo.

With that in mind, here is my list of the top players that were still available at the end of the 2010 NFL Draft:

Still praying for Micah Johnson.

He's a beast... but a wounded one  One knee surgery a couple years ago & then 2 MCL's last year... it'd be a shame for him to make the team and then go down again.

I read an article that said he's considering a bunch of offers, it mentioned 10 teams visited his campus... I wonder if they'd have an inside track and if the Broncos were one of them?

Unfortunately Jacob Cultrea from LSU (who I really like) just signed with the Jags...

There's still Lee Campbell of Minnesota but he seems to have regressed last year... :tsk:

Chris Brown, McCarthy & Bowman could be interesting....

micah johnson should have been/should be a priority UDFA for us. . . .

there's no risk, and if he can stay healthy he could be a steal as a solid two-down interior run plugger. . . and filling that hole for cheap could potentially free up a draft pick next year. . . with haggan inside next to DJ, and adiing ayodele to woodyard and larsen, that's probably adequate. . . doesn't mean we shouldn't be looking at any potential option to upgrade or just add more depth-- especially options to do it at such a low cost. . .

if nothing else, a guy like johnson is definitely worth ptting on your practicew squad for a year, and if somebody signs him up you haven't lost anything. . .

i would imagine we'll also look over whatever vets get cut between now and the start of the season. . .

Overview
A three-time all-SEC honoree, Johnson leaves Kentucky as one of the most productive defenders in school history. The highly touted prep prospect made an immediate impact for the Wildcats, posting 29 tackles to earn a spot on the all-SEC Freshman team in 2006.

Despite splitting time, he had 48 tackles, including five tackles for loss in 2007. Though he missed two and half games with recurring knee sprains in 2008, Johnson enjoyed his most consistent season as a junior. He finished second on the team in tackles with 93, but led the 'Cats with 13 tackles for loss and was recognized as a first-team all-SEC performer by league coaches.

Johnson strongly considered leaving after his junior campaign, but returned after only receiving a mid-round grade from the NFL Advisory Committee. Johnson again struggled with recurring knee injuries as a senior, but posted the finest numbers of his career.

His 105 stops (including 6.5 tackles for loss) earned him second-team all-conference honors. Unfortunately, Johnson suffered a torn MCL in his right knee in the waning moments of the team's loss to Clemson in the Music City Bowl.

Teams are intrigued by Johnson's size and athleticism, but the recurring knee injuries are a concern. His latest injury kept him out of the all-star games, but did not keep him working out for teams before the draft. When healthy, he's a legitimate run plugger in the middle that can help a club immediately.

Analysis
Read and React: Highly aggressive run defender. Can be beaten with effective play-action. Typically diagnoses run plays, showing the burst to slice through the line and stop the back for a loss. Feels blockers coming and protects himself from cuts. Sniffs out screens and draws. Rarely out of position against the run.

Pass defense: Only marginal straight-line speed and is stiff when asked to change direction in coverage. Shows at least adequate instincts for zone, but isn't a natural in this area.

Pass rush: Good size and strength to rush the passer. Typically relies on a simple bull rush, but can get under the pads of the blocker and push him into the pocket. Times his blitzes well and shows a closing burst when the ballcarrier is near.

Run defense: A decided strength in his game. Reads the action and shows a good initial burst to slice through the gap and close to make the tackle at or near the line of scrimmage. Good size and strength to take on and shed blockers, though he needs to be more consistent. Has a tendency to play too upright and can get locked up by blockers, but has good strength to disengage when he keeps his pad level low. Flashes the strength to pull down the ballcarrier with arm tackles while engaged with blockers. At his best playing in the box, as he has only moderate speed to beat the back to the sideline. Protects his knees from the cut block by sprawling and keeping his head on a swivel.

Tackling: Typically a strong, secure tackler in tight quarters and in space. Forceful hitter who has shown the ability to force fumbles, but could do a better job of wrapping up securely, as he'll launch himself into the ballcarrier (but also the potential to miss tackles). At least moderate lateral quickness and balance to break down in space and make the reliable open-field tackle on elusive ballcarriers. Good hustle laterally and downfield to make the play.

Intangibles: Has had multiple knee injuries, including one that required arthroscopic surgery in 2007 and twice losing time in 2009 to MCL injuries. Suffered his latest MCL injury in the final moments of the loss to Clemson in the Music City Bowl. Suspended in the spring of 2007 due to academics.

Career Notes
Went through the National Football League evaluation process but chose to return to Kentucky for his senior season in 2009 … Developed into an All-Southeastern Conference linebacker during the 2008 season … Has made notable progress each season of his career … Team's starting middle linebacker … Displays noteworthy lateral speed in getting to the ball … His experience as a high school offensive star has helped him play effectively in pass defense … Has appeared in 36 career games, earning 14 starting assignments … Has 180 tackles in his career, including 17 for loss … Brother of current Wildcat Christian Johnson, they will go through their senior seasons together.

2009 Season
Johnson, a senior from Ft. Campbell, hit the century mark with 100 tackles, with six games in double figures, despite playing with a sprained knee for much of the season. He also had 6.5 tackles for loss. He was the SEC Defensive Player of the Week in the Wildcat win at Auburn.

2008 Season
Received multiple All-SEC honors, including first-team laurels from the league coaches … Was the team's second-leading tackler with 93 stops, the best season of his career … Would have had well over 100 tackles had he not missed two and one-half games because of injury … Ranked third in the SEC in tackles per game with 8.7 per contest … Led the team while ranking sixth in the conference with 13 tackles for loss … Had four double-figure tackling efforts, including a career-high 15 stops against Arkansas … Led the team in tackles in eight of the 11 games he played.

2007 Season
Played in 12 games, totaling 58 tackles … Effective in pass defense with two interceptions and five pass breakups … Shared the middle linebacker post with Braxton Kelley … Had a career-high nine tackles in the win over Florida Atlantic, plus a 21-yard interception return for a touchdown … Led the team with seven tackles vs. Eastern Kentucky … Also tipped two balls vs. the Colonels, one of which led to an Ashton Cobb interception … Underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Oct. 22 and showed his toughness by missing only one game, making six stops in his return against Vanderbilt … Made four tackles, plus an interception and a pass breakup, in the Music City Bowl.

2006 Season
Selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team by league coaches … Made a surprise entry at running back in the Music City Bowl, crashing in from the one-yard line for Kentucky's first touchdown of the win over Clemson … Played in all 13 games, including two starting assignments … . Made 29 tackles … Notched a season-high seven stops, plus a pass breakup, at Louisville … Forced a fumble vs. Central Michigan and recovered one at Tennessee … As an upback on the kickoff return team, fielded a squib kick and ran it for 17 yards vs. Florida.

If it's true it sucks because he's a excellent receiving TE that can also block. He could have been a nice find for us.

Micah Johnson is 'rumored' to be going to KC according to WildCatBlueBlog (http://www.wildcatblueblog.com/2010/04/kentucky-free-agents.html). Nothing official though.

Brown is a very gifted runner….

He proved he could handle the full load in his junior season, running for 1,220 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2008.

Brown doesn't have ideal size, and could face durability issues at the next level, but he does have good speed and agility and solid pass-catching skills…

<FYI , his Oline in 2009 sucked because the draft decimated it the prior year. He never fumbled once in 627 carries…nice>

College Free Agents On Board
By Gray Caldwell
DenverBroncos.com

Two days after drafting nine new players, the Broncos agreed to terms with 19 college free agents on Monday.

The group is split fairly evenly -- 10 players on offense, nine on defense.

Here's a little more information on each pick-up.

KEVIN ALEXANDER
• POSITION: Outside Linebacker/Defensive End
• COLLEGE: Clemson
• HEIGHT: 6'4"
• WEIGHT: 265
Alexander didn't miss a game in his career at Clemson, a career in which he totaled 125 tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, two pass breakups and one forced fumble.

One of the strongest players for the Tigers -- he can bench press 470 pounds -- Alexander helped Clemson finish among the nation’s top 25 teams in both total defense and scoring defense during all four seasons of his collegiate career.

ALRIC ARNETT
• POSITION: Wide Receiver
• COLLEGE: West Virginia
• HEIGHT: 6'2"
• WEIGHT: 189
Arnett was a two-year starter at West Virginia, totaling 78 receptions for 1,052 yards with nine touchdowns for the Mountaineers, after competing at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona in 2006 and Butler Community College in Kansas in 2005.

After redshirting at West Virginia in 2007 due to a thumb injury, he led the team in receiving yards as a junior in 2008 and ranked second on the team in both receptions and receiving yards and tied for the team high in receiving touchdowns as a senior in 2009.

TONEY BAKER
• POSITION: Running Back
• COLLEGE: North Carolina State
• HEIGHT: 5'10"
• WEIGHT: 225
Baker played 38 career games at N.C. State from 2005-09, totaling 451 rushes for 2,045 yards with 17 touchdowns, and tacked on 65 receptions for 676 yards and four scores. He finished his collegiate career ranked 11th in school history in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, which is made more impressive by the fact that he missed nearly two entire seasons with a knee injury.

He entered his junior campaign in 2007 on the Doak Walker Award -- given to the nation’s best running back -- watch list before suffering the knee injury in the season opener. Two years later, he earned the ACC’s Brian Piccolo Award as the conference’s most courageous player after bouncing back to rank sixth in the conference in rushing and ninth in all-purpose yards in 2009.

JARON BASTON
• POSITION: Defensive Lineman
• COLLEGE: Missouri
• HEIGHT: 6'1"
• WEIGHT: 305
Baston did not miss a single game while at Missouri. He played in 54 contests for the Tigers -- starting 27 -- amassing 101 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception and two fumble recoveries.

He received second-team All-Big 12 honors by the league coaches as a senior in 2009, a year after earning honorable mention All-Big 12 accolades as a junior.

DEVIN BISHOP
• POSITION: Inside Linebacker
• COLLEGE: California
• HEIGHT: 6'1"
• WEIGHT: 239
Bishop spent three seasons with the Golden Bears, playing in 24 games and starting nine. He totaled 66 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He played in all 12 games as a senior and tied for fourth on the team in tackles while receiving the Ken Cotton Award as the most courageous player on defense.

He redshirted in 2007 after transferring from City College of San Francisco, where he earned junior college All-America honors as a sophomore with a team-high 45 tackles for the Rams.

KOREY BOSWORTH
• POSITION: Outside Linebacker/Defensive End
• COLLEGE: UCLA
• HEIGHT: 6'1"
• WEIGHT: 242
Bosworth played 51 career games for the Bruins, starting 28 of them and totaling 154 tackles, 11 sacks and 33.5 tackles for a loss. He started all 13 games as a senior, ranking third on the team and sixth in the Pac-10 in tackles for loss and second on the team in pass breakups. As a junior, he led the team with 7.5 sacks

His uncle, Brian Bosworth, was a two-time Butkus Award winner at the University of Oklahoma and played for the Seattle Seahawks.

MARCELLUS BOWMAN
• POSITION: Safety
• COLLEGE: Boston College
• HEIGHT: 6'2"
• WEIGHT: 225
For the Eagles, Bowman totaled 129 tackles, six interceptions for 210 return yards and a defensive touchdown, and two forced fumbles in 49 career games played including 15 starts.

He played both safety positions during his collegiate career, placing second on the team in tackles while tacking on two sacks as a senior after finishing third on the team with three interceptions -- including one for a touchdown -- as a junior.

CHRIS BROWN
• POSITION: Running Back
• COLLEGE: Oklahoma
• HEIGHT: 5'10"
• WEIGHT: 200
Brown played 45 career games with 14 starts at Oklahoma, totaling 626 rushes for 2,923 yards -- an average of 4.7 yards per carry -- with 42 touchdowns along with 44 receptions for 323 yards and three scores. He received honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference accolades in each of his final two years with the Sooners, and finished his career ranked fourth in team history in total touchdowns and rushing touchdowns, ninth in rushing yards and fifth in rushing attempts.

As a junior, he posted a career-high 1,220 rushing yards on 216 carries while registering the fifth-most rushing touchdowns for a season in Sooners history -- 20 -- to help Oklahoma reach the BCS National Championship Game.

PAUL DUNCAN
• POSITION: Tackle
• COLLEGE: Notre Dame
• HEIGHT: 6'7"

Broncos announce 19 undrafted free agent signings

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 27, 2010 11:30 AM ET
No one can accuse the Broncos of lack of effort in trying to uncover some undrafted free agent gems.

Denver announced the signing of a whopping 19 players (http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=334&storyID=10067). That's actually not the highest number we've heard yet; San Diego had 20. (Coming up just short against San Diego . . . seems like a trend.)

The complete list is after the jump and it includes a relative of Brian Bosworth. Take that, Seahawks!
Clemson outside linebacker Kevin Alexander, West Virginia wide receiver Alric Arnett, N.C. State running back Toney Baker, Missouri defensive lineman Jaron Baston, Cal linebacker Devin Bishop, UCLA outside linebacker/defensive end Korey Bosworth, Boston College safety Marcellus Bowman, Oklahoma running back Chris Brown, Notre Dame tackle Paul Duncan, Air Force defensive lineman Ben Garland, Colorado tight end Riar Greer, Middle Tennessee State wideout Patrick Honeycutt, Stanford tackle Chris Marinelli, Notre Dame safety Kyle McCarthy, Eastern Washington tight end Nathan Overbay, Texas A&M guard Michael Shumard, Wisconsin defensive lineman Jeff Stehle, Mississippi cornerback Cassius Vaughn, and Maine wide receiver Landis Williams.

I saw the NFL worst busts last night and I remembered this post.I wonder if he will have asthma because of his dad, or even if he has any deformities because of the roids dad was using.

Off topic:
Brian Bozworth was one of the biggest busts in draft history. He was also a marketing genius. I remember the game after he said that he would injure John Elway and end his career. The stands in Mile High were filled with folks wearing 'No Bozo' t-shirts. There must have been 50,000 of them. Guess who designed and sold the t-shirts.........the Boz.

Saw a stat this morning about the undrafted free agents.

Of all the rounds in the draft, which round offered the highest percentage of players who played in the first year?

The first round played 20% of its picks.

The next highest percentage was UNDRAFTED FAs.

More than the second round, the third round or the fourth round.

So bring it on FAs!!

Just goes to show you that no matter how much they study players and look at tape there is no true way for talent evaluators to get it totally right when it comes to the draft. The draft really is crap shoot at best.

But you also have to remember that you only GET 7 draft choices a year (usually have a couple more) but you can and most do bring in upwards of 20 UDFA's. Those that are signed have a chip on their shoulder and know they have to perform or they are gonzo in a heart beat.

Not that the draftees do not have the same passion but a little less monetary incentive.

Did anyone else notice that the Broncos signed Dicky Lyons, WR, Kentucky and cut Chris Brown, RB, Oklahoma? I actually thought Brown might make the final roster (especially after Buck and Arrington get injured).

So after one rookie mini camp, Brown (who was actually pretty productive in college) gets canned for another WR?

Right now, I don't think RB is one of our strengths but we've got too many WRs. Cutting a RB in favor of another camp fodder WR isn't something I would've expected.
