i really dont care if we bring anyone else in. i think we have addressed just about everything.

maybe a punter or veteran kicker just to keep prater and the new rookie kickers on their toes during camp.

Seriously, if they bring in Carmody, he probably wins the job.

His leg strength, right now, is similar to Elams.

45 yards and closer.

Can he hit 50 ?

Yes, if conditions are favorable.

Accuracy is much more important than leg strength.

And this kids extremely accurate. (Did alot of work with David Akers)

Latest rumor is he's going to San Fran.

Too bad, the kid was really a clutch kicker. (Would have needed a kickoff specialist, but IMO, it would be worth it for a "money" kicker at the end of the game instead of a "wide right when the heats on" loser)

Interesting...

An old board buddy of mine. The guy's a legend, and he's not getting the
respect he deserves. (Could be that stupid screen name.)

He might get mad at me for it, but it's time to blow his cover.

the kid we got, garrett hartley, has got a leg on him enough to do FGs and kickoffs. he actually has a higher career FG% than carmody as well.

competition between him and prater should yield a decent kicker. i don't know how elam can get run out of town by so many people and then we could pick up a rookie kicker with no leg. losing elam is our chance to regain a roster spot, isn't it?

I see nothing wrong with competition.

Gaining 1 roster spot .........I could care less.

Winning a tight ball game is all that matters.

What people need to understand is that the Sooners rarely try any kick over 40 yards, their philosophy is to punt, which is why Carmody won the Lou Grouza award, he is "perfect" for his "career" from 40-49 yards.

I love having a kickoff specialist, it makes the team look strong, especially when viewing it live.

Sorry about the screen name, I wanted to go with Topscribe but it was already taken.
