2 picks left for tomorrow. A 5th rounder and a 6th rounder. After the meltdown yesterday, the mood has lightened considerably after today's picks. The Broncos adressed the interior line needs, and picked up another big receiver. The most surprising part of the day to me was that McD stood pat and picked without making any trades. How will tomorrow go? Thus far, every player the Broncos have taken have been in for meetings with the coach. Here is the list of remaining players that we have met with that are still on the board:

WR Mardy Gilyard
DE Al Woods
QB Tony Pike
WR Jacoby Ford
DE CJ Wilson
CB Alterrun Verner
CB AJ Jefferson
OL Joe Hawley
WR Terrell Hudgins
CB CJ Lovett

These are the ones we know of....there may be one or two more. I like Wilson, Woods, Verner, and Hawley. List the folks you'd like to see tomorrow. I'd love it if we didn't trade any of next year's picks at this point.

Either you had planned this thread, read my last post, or read my mind. Thanks for putting up your top prospects that are left. But what about Griffin? I also so Pitta still out there even though Josh mentioned a practice squad player. Any thoughts?

Based on that list, I would love if the Broncos picked Alterrun Verner (ATV). I've seen him close as a UCLA fan and he can be a good cornerback for the team, plus he can be valuable on special teams. Get him in the 5th!!!!

Seems like we still need a return specialist, and A.J. Jefferson (CB) is a position of some need and he does kickoffs. I wouldn't be mad if we got him.

We also need, IMO, another Middle Linebacker. Micah Johnson out of Kentucky is available. I see him going before the mid-point of round 4, so we would need to trade up and perhaps toss in one of next year's later round picks.

I don't think there's going to be anyone left really worth mentioning.

Griffen is just not a Bronco at heart, meaning he has none. Pita is there, but there are a ton of TE's available. Here are some of the names that I like that are left, whether they came to Denver or not:

1. Parrish Cox CB
2. Johnathon Dwyer RB
3. Mardy Gilyard WR
4. Clay Harbor TE/FB
4. Akwasi Owunsu-Ansha CB
5. Al Woods- DE
6. Dan Lefevour QB
7 Cam Chancellor S
8. NT Travis Ivey
9. C/G Thomas Austin
10. Myron Rolle S

with the depth of this year's draft, this would be a great year to potentially unearth a gem or two in the later rounds, where some guys that might have legit 2nd-3rd round grades may have been pushed down the board. . .

at this point i don't expect us to deviate from our visits list, but without regard to that the top three four guys that i'd still like to see us add are south carolina LB eric norwood, UNC nosetackle cam thomas, clemson DE (projected to OLB) ricky sapp, and indiana (PA) corner akwasi owusu-ansah (AOA for short). . .

norwood is an OLB with plenty of pass rush experience, but he might fit better inside in the pros-- either way he brings positional versatility and toughness. . . also a team captain who's already gotten his degree-- the kind of character mcD obviously values. . .

thomas is a classic wide-bodied space-eater, exactly the kind of NT prospect we could develop behind Jwall for a year or two. . . a lot of sites had him projected as high as the 2nd round. . .

sapp is one of those undersized DE/OLB conversions, but he does have some experience rushing from a two-point stance, along with the burst to pressurize the edges. . . he'd be a good value as a developmental wave rusher at this point. . .

AOA is exactly the kind of raw, high-upside project you don't mind taking a risk on at this point. . . he's small school guy who obviously faces a tough transition, but he has all the physical skills you want-- 6', 207 lbs. with a 4.32 40, 35" vertical, and slightly better triangle numbers than top corner joe haden. . . he's a physical specimen, and could contribute in the return game while he hones his technique. . . actually, given our lack of young talent at a rapidly aging position, i think he'd be a great roll of the dice on a guy that could potentially fill a starting spot for cheap down the road, and doesn't cost you much if he doesn't develop-- love those low risk, high reward type picks. . .

i'd also look at:

DE corey wooten
CB dominique franks
CB perrish cox
CB alterraun verner
OL joe hawley
OG mitch petrus
S myron rolle
LB micah johnson
C matt tennant
C eric olsen
DT al woods
DT arthur jones
LB jamar chaney
RB anthony dixon
RB charles scott
RB legarrette blount

edit: and i'd still take mardy gilyard-- we need a return specialist, gilyard is a GREAT value this late, and you can never have too many shifty, competitive receivers when you run a spread offense. . .

that shouldn't come as a shock from the guy who's been acting like we didn't get a bit of legit talent in the first three rounds, right?

LMAO Nice complete overreaction to that one. Don't tell me you think Tim Tebow's talent somehow translates into everyone else Denver's picked too.

99% of the football players in he NFL have "talent".

Takes a little more than talent to succeed in the NFL, and let's not completely overreact about hating one player somehow translating into everyone drafted in the first 3 rounds.
