2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

Disgusting, if you ask me.

Especially for a player that won't immediately make an impact.

At least we didn't give up next year's 1st round pick for the last pick in the second round...

I believe the 3rd and 4th were acquired in our trade backs. At least we didnt give up two seconds.

I wish we had given up picks in next years draft.

We swapped the 11th pick, a 2nd, a 3rd, and 2 4th's for the 22nd pick, the 25th pick, 2 3rd's, and a 4th. Value was solid. Bitch about who we picked, but being outraged over the trade value is ridiculous. It just seems like a lot because we had been stockpiling picks.

It has nothing to do with value for me Honz. I just hate the pick because i see other needs that need to be addressed first. Who cares about a Qb who wont see the field for 3 years? 2 minimum. The time to win is now.

114 we got from trading down with SF.

43 was our original pick, wasn't it? We still have pick 45, right?

114 we got from trading down further in the draft from the Eagles, right?

And we still have picks in each round but the 7th?

No, no 4th round. We lost both of those.

What did the Broncos really give up for Tebow?

They bypassed Iupati, Pouncey, Bulaga, McClain, Williams, among others.

PLUS all those draft choices.

That's what they gave up . . .

He'll see the field this year as a gimmicky QB. I think he could produce some spark at the goalline and short yardage before he is ready to take over full time.

Thats the biggest upside to Tebow IMO. If he doesn't pan out as a full time QB, he still has value as a gimmicky type player and he will be a beast at the QB sneak.

NFL.com is reporting that we swapped 4th round picks rather than giving up our 4th. ESPN shows us giving up our 4th and not getting one in return. I hope NFL.com is right, but I doubt it.

I think the thing that's disturbing about McD's tendency to burn away traded picks like they are worthless is that there's actually steep value he's throwing away. Didn't the Ravens get Boldin for their 3rd and 4th? That would be a MUCH better expenditure than tossing them all away for a unproven QB reach.

Well if it's any consolation NFLN seems to have been right on top of every thing so I would trust them over ESPN.

Yea, they not only got back those picks but they ended up being higher than what they had initially.

Not in this case. Denver gave up a 4th for Thomas and then for Tebow. We only had two to burn and NFL network stated the same thing.

Value as in, a 2nd 3rd and 4th round pick?

Sorry, think we might have been able to find a gimmick with one of those picks and still picked up some top end Oline help. Or for that matter, could have drafted him at 21 and saved a crap load of picks for that "gimmick".

Denver still has picks:

2nd rd Pick 45 (our original 2nd rounder)

3rd rd Pick 80
3rd rd Pick 87

5th rd Pick 137

6th rd Pick 183

We through New England off a bit with the wild ass formation but didn't score points using it like Miami did two years ago. In fact New England was up by 10 points going into the 2nd half. It was the defense that most intrumental in us winning that game.

LMAO wow.

A deep draft and we give up the barn for a guy who can't throw.

so basically McDumbass just pulled a Mike Ditka to get Tim Tebow, and now he's kicking back with a big cigar and saying yeah we goin to de supah bowl now. :tsk:

what a stupid **** our head coach is.

I just cant be pissed at the Tebow pick when i see that. Cant.
MCD masterminded and engineered those trades back to aquire what
he wanted in picks to move around and get the 2 guys he wanted.
He was just like Belicheat, and no one can dispute this. Awsome job Josh.
Now, if you dont like the players he took, i understand you might be pissed, but you cant say that Josh didnt manipulate the 1st round brilliantly.

I like the commentators saying what Ozzie Newsome thought about the trade...

When Ozzie heard the offer, his eyes bugged out of his head and he was laughing! He said yes to the trade immediately. Josh McD is a ******* retard, sorry but it's true.

Ok, I'm off to work, so I don't have time to find where I saw it, but someone posted we went into the draft with the following picks:

1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

and after all the wheeling and dealing, we got:

1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 5, 6

My question is whether that first one is what we entered yesterday with? I thought we had more than 7 picks going into the draft yesterday, after some of the off season moves.

If in fact, through all the maneuvering yesterday, converted a second into a first, a fourth into a third, and moved back a little in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, then that was some pretty good maneuvering (putting aside for a moment who was picked with the first round picks).

That comment was almost certainly hyperbole by the commentator. There is also a story that Newsome called Tebow's agent and said that Sexton (the agent) needed to by Ozzie 25 slabs of ribs, vs. him saying that he owned Sexton/Tebow 25 slabs of ribs.

I've yet to see anyone give a draft chart 'value' break down of the 3 picks vs. the 25th pick to see if we did indeed give up too much for the 25th.

In any other year, we're giving a future #1 AND a 3rd rounder to move up 18 spots back into round 1. And that is backed up w/ decades of proof.

Whether you agree w/ the player who was picked or not, we gave up NOTHING for him...and we still walk away w/ an extra 3rd rounder.
