He has a lot of potential, his work ethic is second to known except maybe Peyton Manning, I'm sure he could learn the system quick and he has the ultimate team attitude and he could possibly play FB a time or two! Hell, I'd take Iupati at 11 so if Tebow is taken I'd be ok! But as I said before I was told he was a horrendous pick!!

Another plus he is use to wearing a uniform that is orange and blue!!!:D

I honestly do not understand the wish to draft a quarterback who cannot throw the ball competently, much less in the first round. If he can't perform the primary function of his position at a minimum NFL level, what the hell is he doing in the NFL?

He's a good character guy and can change the lockerroom culture. I don't think teams are actually thinking he can pan out in the NFL as the kind of QB you expect to get in the first round, but they love his character!

Okay, I see why everyone likes the kid, but man, this team has so many HOLES that a QB cant fill.

We have the draft picks this year to "possibly" fix some long term issues, and frankly this doesnt fix the most pressing needs.

Bandwagon I can not.

Tebow could throw right-handed and have more potential than the current QBs on the roster.

But last year's crazy throw-away-picks-because-i-couldn't-be-bothered-to-scout debacle has made me wait to see what Josh is doing this year before I judge any pick in it.

I assume we're gonna bounce around the draft like crazy giving back the picks we've just hoarded to go get THE guys we want.

Let's hope we spent the year studying college film and not doing kegstands so that the guys we want are guys who can actually help us.

Tebow or no Tebow.

McDaniels failed miserably in the 1st round.

Demaryius Thomas? Really? He doesn't know the route tree. His talent is undeniable and he's a big-play receiver, but don't you need to know how to run routes in his offense?

Tim Tebow? Really? Then why the hell did we trade for Brady Quinn? His intangibles are off the charts, but that doesn't make you a great football player. I wish it did, but it doesn't. I'm still shaking my head. I like the guy, but I don't like the pick. Did you see what the hell we gave up to draft this guy? My goodness this is ridiculous.

I knew Josh couldn't hitch his wagon successfully to Orton or Quinn.

Now we'll see whether passing on Claussen in the 1st or Colt McCoy in the 2nd-ish for Jesus Tebow is something that McDaniels can hang his hat on. I really thought it would be McCoy with his huge passing percentage inside of 5 yards, which McDaniels seems to really like. Tebow carries a lot of baggage - maybe his will help offset Josh's accumulated luggage and give both of them some breathing room

Walk on some water, Tim - but only after you raise the dead.

I think we need lineman for the running game. In particular short yardage situations.

Pass Protection will be fine, although I'm kinda upset that a southpaw will make having an all-pro LT a little less important. I wonder if we move Clady to RT if Tebow takes over in 2 or 3 years.

Unfortunately, for all Broncos fans, your general manager and head coach have drafted Tim Tebow, who will be either a big "bust" in the NFL or be a very long term project to develop. To pick him in the 1st round of the draft, over Clauson and other quarterbacks who have much more potential is ridiculous. I think the people who drafted Tim were duped by the media who have continually praised him as the "anointed one". Tim during this college career, was only successfully because at Florida, he had the best college skill players in the country. However, this is not the case in Denver.

I have watched Tim Tebow for many years. At this years Senior Bowl, playing
only against college senior all-stars, he was terrible. One of the worst college
senior perfomances I have seen in many years. He fumbles under center, short threw his receivers in the short and intermediate routes. He also does not read defenses quickly enough and has terrible throwing mechanics which will make it easy for opposing defensive cornerbacks to intercept his passes.
He also watches his primary receiver which will make it easy for interceptions in the NFL. You can have all the will to win, but that does not always translate into wins in the NFL. You have to have the talent, bottom line. This is just my opinion. Best of luck in the future.

The Senior Bowl is a recipe for disappointment when it comes to QB's. New systems, new receivers, new center...and they have a week to figure it all out. They are set up for failure from the beginning. Just ask any NFL scouts...if you know any

Count me in. I'm on the bandwagon. He's a proven winner, has great stats, etc. Those things don;t happen by accident.

All the talk about his delivery... Well, there was a lot of bad things said about Favre as well before he came in the league, and he's a first ballot HOFer. McD knows QBs, and I think Tebow can certainly work out.

One of my favorite things about him, everything I have ever read about Tebow mentions his leadership. We haven't had a leader under center since John left.

The other thing i've read about him for a couple years is how hard he works. If he's willing to put in the work I don't see any reason he can't correct every knock all the "experts" have on his mechanics.

And the BIGGEST reason to root for Tebow? HE'S A DENVER BRONCO!!!!!!

I disagree Marshall wasn't a huge project. He did play in pro style offense and was able to make a small contribution by the end of his rookie campaign. Thomas comes from a run oriented offense it might take him longer to catch on..I

I always send my dad an E-mail after portions of the draft to explain my thoughts, and here is what I had to say about Tebow

I had a feeling the Broncos were going to take Tebow, and in the end honestly I'm glad they did. Orton is a good quarterback but he doesn't strike me, or anybody, as the kind of a person with the leadership or intensity to lead a team to a Super Bowl win. I've been listening to interviews about Tebow and it really seems like he's excited to be a Bronco and is willing to give everything to the team and that's all you can ask for out of a player.

http://blogs.nfl.com/2010/04/22/broncos-trade-up-take-tebow-at-no-25/

There's an interview with him right after he got drafted. I know he's a little overbearing with how "perfect" he seems to be and how much the media loves him, but he's a player that the fans will love because he's somebody that loves the team and will work as hard for the team as the fans would if they were in the same situation. I liked Brandon Marshall and I know a lot of people did, but they just liked him because of his talent. He's not a guy that I would love because it doesn't seem like he cares about the team, just about himself and what he's getting out of playing football. Any time a team wins a Super Bowl it's because the players care about the team above anything else, and to me that's the kind of person Tebow is.

I know it's going to be a controversial pick, but McDaniels knows how to work with quarterbacks and I'm confident that Tebow is going to have some special packages as a rookie to get him involved in the game, and within a year or two I think he'll be ready to play just because he'll put in the work to get himself in that position. The reason a lot of people didn't think he'd be very good is because of the offense he played in and it doesn't translate very well to the NFL, but he said something that I really liked which was that Florida asked him to run a certain offense and he gave it his best and ran it to perfection, and now that he's in Denver they're going to ask him to run a certain system and he's going to do whatever he can to run it to perfection.

Tim Tebow will do everything in his power to make the Broncos a better team, and believe me, when he sets him mind to something, he accomplishes it. I can't help but think that if the idiot Glazer's hadn't fired Gruden, we'd be celebrating here in Tampa. Guess who just became my 2nd favorite team? JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The three-foot-high ice sculpture in the foyer, cleverly molded in the shape of the familiar NFL shield, had all but melted into the shrimp and crab claws by the time the Denver Broncos ended Tim Tebow's vigil Thursday night.

But when you've waited the better part of two decades to be part of the NFL, a couple of hours more doesn't seem like very much, right?

Especially when you're largely surrounded by the two-dozen or so friends and family members who have invested almost as much in the dream, a destiny that Tebow had set for himself since he was 6 years old. Or when the menu supplied by the caterer included two favorite delicacies, chicken fingers and macaroni and cheese, but not his mother Pam's homemade tacos. Or when the atmosphere at the home from which Tebow observed the 75th NFL draft -- a sprawling manse in a community where the lawns were nearly as lush as the putting greens that lay just a pitching wedge away -- was more like a party than a nail-biting waiting game.

"It's all been worth it," said Tebow, dressed in jeans and a light blue shirt and wearing several elastic, message-bearing bracelets on both wrists, after the Broncos selected him with the 25th overall choice. "The good stuff is usually worth the wait. You've just got to be patient."

Throughout the evening, Tebow demonstrated great patience, indeed, answering the same questions repeatedly, hustling off to spend time with some buddies, and then emerging to answer the same questions again.

About 45 minutes before the pick that anointed him a pro, Tebow stood in the den of the home, watching the draft on a flat-screen television. Agent Jimmy Sexton -- who had huddled with the Tebow family in an upstairs room earlier in the evening and told the them that the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner figured to go off the board sometime around the 22nd choice or perhaps after -- consulted briefly with the quarterback and predicted that Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome would play a key role in the selection.

Moments later, with Tebow displaying none of the strain of the moment, the doors to the den closed. Shortly thereafter, Tebow emerged, a cell phone to his ear and Broncos coach Josh McDaniels on the other end.

Tebow beamed and the house, filled with supporters, broke into cheers and tears. When the call first came in, Tebow looked at Sexton, who ordered, "Answer the thing!"

One of Sexton's associates, Jim Denton, hugged Tebow and then turned to a reporter and said of the Broncos: "They're one of the most honest teams in the league. They did exactly what they told us they'd do."

Ridiculed by some because of allegedly flawed mechanics, Tebow was the second quarterback selected.

"I think, when I was in the Philippines and watched all those people going about their business without stuff we just took for granted, I learned patience," Tebow said. "So it didn't matter where I went, just so I went. If it was [Friday], and the second round or so, then so be it. But I am glad that it's over."

That Tebow went in the first round, given the criticisms of him and the fact he had his throwing motion so deconstructed by personal mentors Zeke Bratkowski, Marc Trestman and Noel Mazzone seemed poetic justice.

Sexton and Tebow had identified the Broncos as a legitimate contender to choose the quarterback, and those suspicions were justified when Denver began to deal back and forth in the first round. The Broncos had met with Tebow at the combine and were very impressed with Tebow, as he was with them.

After going quiet for about a month, and sending only one area scout to Tebow’s group workout, the Broncos auditioned the quarterback Monday, putting him on the field and at the blackboard for nearly six hours. They then flew from here to Atlanta to work out Georgia Tech wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, who had suffered a broken foot in February and had been unable to work for scouts. The Broncos chose Thomas three picks before Tebow; they now form the nucleus of the team’s future passing attack.

Last week, the Broncos flew Tebow -- who spent Thursday afternoon playing basketball with his brothers, getting in a throwing workout and finding time for a haircut -- to Denver to meet with team officials.

As Tebow rode to the clubhouse here where most of the media was sequestered, he received a post-selection cell phone call from Florida coach Urban Meyer, who knows McDaniels well.

"He told me I couldn't have gotten picked by a better guy," Tebow said. At about the same time in the back of the limo, Sexton fielded a call from Newsome. "He said I owe him 25 slabs of ribs for making [the trade]," Sexton said, laughing.

Someone in the back of the SUV reminded Tebow, a local hero bypassed by the fan-needy Jaguars in the first round, that Jacksonville opens the 2010 season by hosting the Broncos.

McDaniels' mentor, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, was rumored to be very interested in the quarterback. The rationale was that, while Tebow served his quarterback apprenticeship behind Tom Brady, the Patriots would figure out a role for him. But it never came to that, and the chances are that McDaniels won't be quite as creative.

Tebow, who will fly to Denver on Friday for a press conference, has a pretty good feel for the Broncos and their personnel. But he makes no pretense of trying to quickly oust starter Kyle Orton or recently acquired backup Brady Quinn.

"I just have a passion to play football," Tebow said. "When you do things different than other people sometimes do them, and you don’t settle for just being average, you open yourself up [for criticism]. But I'm ready for it. I've learned to live with it. I never just wanted to do things the same way everybody else does."

But there is little doubt Tebow is a student of the game, a human sponge who soaks in everything about his sport.

Asked if he would wear his familiar No. 15 in Denver, the quarterback cited the recent trade of wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who used to wear that uniform number, to the Miami Dolphins.

"Well," Tebow said, smiling and rubbing his eyes in the first sign of fatigue in what was a long day, "it's opened up now, hasn't it?"

Just noticed this thread and thought is was made after the draft.

Was delighted to see that the TS had the nads to do so before.

Just to let most folks that had not noticed. I've been saying not to be surprised about him being a Bronco since I heard he had been interviewed again on Monday.

So folks consider me a charter member.

Frankly until Christmas this past year I had paid zero attention to him.

My daughters boy friend who is a OT at her school is a HUGE Tebow fan was hoping that he would wind up in his home state of FL.
So then I got interested in him. Not as a fan just started to get to know of him.

I did not think a thing about him being a Bronco, till Monday.

Werder just said McDaniels showed him a text from Tebow that said that he was going out to buy a bunch of Broncos hats so everyone could put them on as soon as he got drafted by the broncos. Apparently Tebow and McDaniels got along REALLY well, and was the centerpiece of the first round. Take it as you like, but McDaniels is convinced that he can make a QB out of this kid.

The QB I would have wanted in my dreams is Jake Locker (who is still at UW and would never be available at our draft slot). He's an unbelievable player who should be the next pro juggernaut. He can run, make every throw, stay strong in the pocket, and the coverage reading capabilities are coming along nicely.

The difference between Tebow and Locker?

Nothing some mechanical work and film study shouldn't be able to fix. Most top college QBs that fail have insurmountable limitations that are masked by their college system or they just don't have the heart to put in the work.

Tebow has the heart. As long as we have a line and some weapons for him, and he can master reading coverages from under center, I don't see a reason why he can't overcome the flaws in his game to be a great QB.

I wrestled with it all weekend, but in the end I go back to my mantra: I'd rather take a limited kid with the heart, motor, and leadership capabilities and teach him to overcome his limitations rather than take the athlete who can do everything but doesn't have the ability to overcome adversity.

No matter what your talent level, there WILL be adversity. If you can't overcome it, then you'll be left on the side of the road. All Tim has ever done is put every ounce of effort into being successful. I don't see a reason to doubt him now. He would not have been my pick. If I'd been drafting we'd have taken McCoy in the 2nd - just as good a kid, better prepared for the pros.

But Tebow, if he makes it, should have the better career. He's just too stupid to know he's overmatched, and like Rocky just can't stay on the canvas.

Yo Adrian.

Go Tebow.
