SAN ANTONIO -- In a playoff series already filled with physical play, the San Antonio Spurs are claiming one player from the rival Phoenix Suns should be disciplined for actions in the third quarter of Tuesday evening's Game 2 victory.

KSAT 12 Sports has learned the Spurs have contacted league officials regarding a play involving Suns guard Leandro Barbosa and Spurs guard Manu Ginobili, and have asked for Barbosa to be suspended.

With 1:42 remaining in the quarter, Ginobili and Barbosa bacame tangled up while going for a rebound and fell to the floor. According to sources in the organization, Spurs officials contacted the league to complain about Barbosa hitting Ginobili in the face with an open hand, then slamming his head on the court.

KSAT 12 Sports has learned the league reviewed the play in question and that no action would be taken.

Spurs officials would not officially comment.

This is the kind of attitude I hate from the Spurs. Low and unsporting.

HOWEVER, I have seen Barbosa fling his arms around a several times this season.

Although I saw the game and I didn't spot this incident, I think the Spurs are just being bad winners.

Pansies...Like the Spurs never cross the line of physicality in the playoffs? Please.

Now I've seen the incident I remember that I did see this on TV. I think that was intentional. Not horrible, but intentional. Barbosa needs to stop playing dirty.

So does Ginobili...can't stand that dude. Meh, whatever...call the personal on Barbosa (which wasn't actually called) and let's move on...

Yeah Ginobili is a little flop.

Just warn Barbosa and move on as you said.

Thanks for posting the video as I didn't get to see the game. I don't see anything that warrants a suspension. It's the playoffs and it turns into a much more physical game, always has.

That last team I ever want to hear whining about dirty play is the Spurs.

This is pathetic. I have never seen a team contact the league in order to get somebody suspended. This just reminds me why I don't like the Spurs.

If anybody should file a complaint it should be the Suns in the postseason matchup between these two teams last year. Nobody on the Suns filed a complaint.

Just shut up and play. I mean they lead the series 2-0 so there is no reason to complain......sore winners is right.

These Euros and South Americans need to quit pretending this is soccer and stop the damn flopping. Seriously. If you flop, it should be free throws and posession for the other team.

Ginobli acts like he is going to die, then pops right up.

No kidding.

I mean in soccer you get a yellow card if you get caught diving. Same should be for basketball, except it should be a foul on the "acting" player plus two free throws.

Spurs have talent beyond belief, but whine like a bunch of school girls not getting their way. That's why I can't stand to watch them!
