(Figured all you Nelson lovers would like to heart it.) :D

keith Elko Nevada: Jordy Did you talk to any Denver scouts while you were at the combine

SportsNation Jordy Nelson: (1:35 PM ET ) I did. I have talked to a couple of Denver scouts. I know my position coach has talked to them. We have discussed some football.

I like Nelson because he's a football player first and a Wide Receiver second... I don't think he'll ever be an elite WR, but I do think he could develop into a solid #2 or #3 possession guy who could contribute on special teams if you needed him to.

Jordy Nelson did really well at K-State...former walk-on I believe, (cswil will correct me if I'm wrong.)

Love his speed...I know it's just one play, but he smoked Aquib Talib on a go route. I remember watching that one live.

I personally wonder a little bit about his route running, but he will definitely work hard to do that in the pros.

I thought I read somewhere that he was a polished route runner. Maybe I have him confused with someone else.

Thats the word goin roun.

But you have to do it on the NFL level. Which I think he eventually will.

Does he play tough? Thats what I want in a WR.

Jordy plays tough.

Some are saying he could be gone in RD2.

I doubt it but it will be interesting to see if he has leapfrogged Kelly and Manningham. If not, the fact that those guys slid may push someone like Nelson down a little bit. If Kelly and Manningham have fallen below Nelson on some teams' draft boards though, all bets are off. But whichever the case, the difference could mean being drafted in the 2nd or even the 4th.

If we were able to draft Jordy in the 2nd round I wouldn't have a problem with that. But I also would not have a problem with drafting Hardy.

I would be fine w/ Jordy in 2. I love this kid.. he would have a year to play spot duty and ST and then next year become the #2. I very much think they will take a WR in 2 based on the one year contracts to the Jackson and Parker. I would be very happy with Jordy or Early Doucet.

Jordy Nelson at K-State

An interesting note is the touchdown on a punt return with no return yardage...you'd have to assume that was a blocked punt recovered in the end zone for a touchdown, at least, that's how I took it.

If Denver does draft a wide receiver then I think one of the three we have signed this offseason will be released. And if that is the case Parker would be the odd man out in my opinion.

I would say it would be glenn maritnez on the way out not parker.

But i really could care less who is gone.

Martinez has shown he valuable as punt return as long he does not things for granted, he'll have edge over Parker.

Or maybe it will be one of our 3 fullbacks...or maybe we'll have a kicker who kicks off.

I think a wide receiver would still get cut eventually because Denver will more than likely not keep more than five.

parker would have the edge imo. he's more valuable as a returner than martinez and he's a new signing. 1 TD does not a good returner make.

Yeah, and its amazing how easily people fall in love with these bargain basement players. It was Mike Bell in 2006 and Genn Martinez in 2007.

With the Jackson signing I really don't see us taking a WR early enough to get Nelson. We can focus on RB, OL, and the Front 7 of the Defense now in the draft.

How could he be more valuable he didn't return punts or kicks last year?

Jordy Nelson reminds me of Hines Ward for some reason. I know Jordy has 3 inches on him, but they seem to have similar playing styles.

Granted its the college game but in my opinion he seems to be a little more elusive than Ward is, and I don't mean as a knock on Ward.

Jordy Nelson is going to be on Sirius this afternoon. If I catch it, Ill post a summary of whats noteworthy. Kirwan/Ryan dont focus as much on Denver though as much as Schein.

can't believe he went so high, but i'm glad for him.

with our desire for a return specialist, i bet we'd have passed on him at 42 anyway... oh well.
