From my blog at http://sportsindenver.blogspot.com/

Before we get to my top 5 bronco plays of all time it's time for some more "honorable mentions". Today:

Steve Watson was an undrafted free agent out of Temple who saw very little action with the Broncos in 1980 (6 receptions). The 1981 season started the same way, under new coach Dan Reeves, until Watson broke out with an incredible three td game in week 3:

Watson went on to score 13 touchdowns that year. Watson was one of the best Bronco wide receivers ever - he had an uncanny ability to make a catch if the football was anywhere in his vicinity. Look at this clip later in his career with Watson making a great catch from John Elway:

Next: another honorable mention play from an AFC Championship game

Steve was awesome. I always kind of thought of Eddie Mac as Watson v2.0.

My brother and I used to play Steve Watson at our pool. One of us would play QB and throw a Nerf ball out over the pool while the other guy would lay out to make the catch over the water. That way we could land without getting hurt! I was pretty young at the time, but I just remember him making a lot of catches while proned out parallel to the ground, a lot of fingertip type catches. He was a pretty good clutch receiver, could be depended on to make big catches when needed.

He was a solid receiver who enjoyed a great season in '81 as did Morton. Great clips, Titan....:salute:

That's cool; if it was him, he was a lucky guy. I'd give an awful lot to be able to go back in time and be at some of those late 70's games like some of these guys here were. Sigh....;)

That over the shoulder catch is just about physically impossible. Brilliant.
