Finally! The waiting is over. I just hope the DEN/SD game in SD is earlier in the year because I hate waiting until December. I also can't wait to see what games will be on SNF and MNF besides the Raider game.

I hope it's later in the year. I'm moving to Camp Pendleton later this year and want to be there for that game.

Our second half schedule looks fairly light in my opinion. Nothing like having the Dolphins, Falcons, Jets, Raiders, and Chiefs in a 6 week period.

BOSSHOGG30
04-15-2008, 12:04 PM
I don't like having divisional opponents 3 of first 4 weeks.

I don't like finishing the year at San Diego.

I don't like the usual 5 games at home the first half of the season, and 5 away the second half.

I like having a bye week following the Monday nighter vs. Pats.

I like having the Chiefs here in December rather than there.

I like that the only cold weather team away late is the Jets on Nov 30.

Overall, I'm satisfied with it.

Actually, not too bad overall, though going to Cleveland for a Thursday night game after a Sunday game isn't fun.
Hate ending in San Diego. Again. But glad there is no November/December game in Kansas City.

Second half of the season is definatley going to be easier than the first half. Considering the rocky year we are coming off of, if we can survive to the bye week, we 'could' make a bit of a run in the second half.

AT OAKLAND RAIDERS
MONDAY, SEP. 8 - 7:15 P.M. PDT - ESPN
THE SERIES: The Raiders' 1995 return to Oakland has been something of a blessing for the Broncos. Since 1995, the Broncos are 9-4 in road games against them. Prior to the Raiders' 1982 departure, Denver went 4-4 in its previous eight games at the then-Oakland Coliseum. The Broncos have swept the Raiders 13 times since the AFL-NFL merger (1978, 1981, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006). During those 13 years, the Broncos posted 11 winning seasons, nine playoff appearances, seven division titles and three conference championships. In those same 13 years, Oakland won the division once, made the playoffs twice and finished below .500 11 times.
LAST TIME IN OAKLAND: Prior to last season's contest at Oakland on December 2, 2007 the Broncos had won the last four times at their arch-rivals home. Denver saw that streak snap with a 34-20 loss. Turnovers doomed the Broncos, during the second and third quarters, Denver turned the ball over three times. All three turnovers were inside the Broncos 35-yard line and led to 17 points by the Raiders. Despite the miscues, the Broncos battled back with a chance to tie the game. Denver had the ball down 27-20 in the fourth quarter, but a Jay Cutler interception sealed it for the Raiders and the Broncos dropped to 5-7 on the season. Click here for more on the game.

VS. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
SUNDAY, SEPT. 14 - 2:15 P.M. MDT - CBS
THE SERIES: During Head Coach Mike Shanahan's era, the Broncos are 10-3 against the Chargers at home. The Chargers have won four straight against the Broncos, sweeping the season series the last two years. The last time the Broncos beat the Bolts was back in 2005 when they sweep the season series. The Broncos lead the all-time series between the two teams at 52-43.

LAST TIME IN DENVER: The Broncos suffered their worst home loss in 41 years falling to San Diego 41-3 in a cold-rainy day at INVESCO field at Mile High. Players called the loss one of the most “embarrassing” losses they have ever been a part of. The Broncos run defense was gashed for 214-combined yards by LaDanian Tomlinson and Michael Turner. The loss was the second consecutive time the Broncos had lost to San Diego at home. Click here for more on the game.

VS. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
SUNDAY, SEPT. 21 - 2:05 P.M. MDT - FOX
THE SERIES: The Broncos hold a 6-2 advantage in the series during the regular season. The last time New Orleans visited Denver was back in 1994 and left Mile High Stadium with a 30-28 victory. Points have not been a stranger to these two teams when the meet, in the eight contests against the Saints, the Broncos have averaged 26 points a game.
LAST TIME: Denver rolled to a 34-13 victory on November 21, 2004, behind 166-yards rushing and a touchdown from running back Reuben Droughns. The Broncos routed the Saints in the first quarter scoring 20 unanswered points, 185-yards of total offense, 94-yards rushing and averaged 12.3 yards-per-play. Click here for more on the game.

AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
SUNDAY, SEPT. 28 - 12 P.M. CDT - CBS
THE SERIES: The Broncos have not had much recent success at Kansas City, losing seven of their last nine at Arrowhead Stadium. The stadium is renowned as a difficult place for visitors to play. But the Broncos have held their own at Arrowhead, going 15-20 there, including the 1997 divisional-playoff win.
LAST TIME IN KANSAS CITY: The Broncos went to Kansas City on Nov 11, 2007 and did something they have struggled with in the past: Winning at Arrowhead. The Broncos 27-11 victory, was just their second win in their last nine tries at Kansas City. The last time Denver left Arrowhead with a victory was back in 2002, 37-34 in overtime. Defense was the story, forcing four turnovers and Nate Webster returned a fumble for a touchdown which gave Denver a 20-8 advantage. The Win helped the Broncos get back in the AFC West and snapped a two-game skid. Click here for more on the game.

VS. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
SUNDAY, OCT. 5 - 2:05 P.M. MDT - FOX
THE SERIES: This will mark just the seventh time the two teams have met in their franchises history. The Broncos hold a 4-2 overall advantage winning two of the last three contests. The last time the Buccaneers were in Denver was in 1996 and the Broncos won 27-23.
LAST TIME: The two teams met in 2004 and the Broncos prevailed 16-13 in Tampa. The story of the game was John Lynch's return to Tampa where he spent the previous 11-years helping guide the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl during the 2002 season. Lynch made a game changing play on third-and-two stopping Mike Alstott in the third quarter, halting a drive and sealing the Broncos victory. Click here for more on the game.

VS. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
SUNDAY, OCT. 12 - 2:05 P.M. MDT - CBS

LAST TIME: The Broncos hosted the Jaguars in week three of 2007 and suffered their first defeat of the year 23-14. The Broncos had an opportunity to drive late in the fourth quarter and take the lead, but Jay Cutler and Daniel Graham couldn't connect on fourth down with 4:19 left sealing the Jacksonville win. Brandon Marshall enjoyed a career day for the Broncos with seven catches for 133-yards. Click here for more on the game.

AT NEW ENGLAND
MONDAY, OCT. 20 - 8:30 P.M. EDT - CBS
THE SERIES: The Broncos lead the all-time series 24-15 in the regular season and are 9-7 against the Patriots on the road. The two teams met in the post season back in 2005, and the Broncos advanced the post season AFC Championship Game with a 27-13 win.

LAST TIME: Head Coach Mike Shanahan continued his dominance over Bill Belichick, defeating the Patriots 17-7 on Sunday Night Football in week 3 of 2006. The win was the fifth time Shanahan defeated Belichick since being hired by the Patriots in 2000, going 5-2 in seven games since. Denver also continued their dominance on defense by not allowing a touchdown until the fourth quarter, ending a streak of not allowing a touchdown in the first 11 quarters of the season. Tatum Bell rushed for 123-yards and Javon Walker scored a pair of touchdowns. Click here for more on the game.

VS. MIAMI DOLPHINS
SUNDAY, NOV. 2 - 2:05 P.M. MST - CBS
THE SERIES: Denver is just 3-10 all time against Miami in the regular season. The last time these two teams met in Denver was in 2004 with the Broncos winning 20-17. This will mark the fifth time since 2000 the two teams have met in the regular season and the Broncos are 1-3 in the last four contests. The Broncos have played the Dolphins only once in the postseason winning 38-3 en route to their first Super Bowl.
LAST TIME: Denver opened their 2005 season in Miami and lost 34-10, Denver would then go on to win 13 of its next 15 games. It had marked Denver's worst opening-season loss in their last 39 years. Rod Smith caught seven passes for 80 yards and Jake Plummer was 22-48 for 251-yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while the ground game only amassed 70 yards. AT CLEVLAND BROWNS

During that stretch the Broncos won four of those on the road. The last win for Cleveland came in 1990 in Denver, by a score of 30-29. This will mark with fourth time in the last ten years the two teams have played in the regular season.
LAST TIME: The Broncos traveled to Cleveland in 2006 and left with a 17-7 victory, improving to 5-1 on the season. The Broncos led 17-0 before the Browns got on the board with a touchdown in the fourth quarter. AT ATLANTA FALCONS
SUNDAY, NOV. 16 - 1:00 P.M. EST - FOX

LAST TIME IN DENVER: The Broncos escaped Oakland in their season opener of 2007 with a 23-20 overtime victory in week two. The Broncos had blown a 14-point halftime lead, and for a moment felt they had lost to their division rivals in overtime. That moment came in overtime when Sebastian Janikowski hit a 52-yard field goal and Oakland began to celebrate. With a quick blow of the whistle, it was all wiped away as Head Coach Mike Shanahan called a timeout right before the kick was made. Janikowski missed his second attempt, and Denver drove the field and kicked a game winning 23-yard field goal off the leg of Jason Elam. Click here for more on the game.

If the Broncos are 1-6 at the bye, heads will roll. Big time. Especially with four straight losses at home, on the heels of two straight bad years at Invesco.

I see 9-7.

Worst possible schedule for my travel plans. The 5 potential trips are all w/in 5 weeks of eachother AND are late in the year when the weather will be turning. FRICK! Carolina is now out of the question. NYJ may be as well. FRICK! Looking like Cleveland and either Atlanta or a Denver home game (NO or TB). FRICK!

i love our schedule. we have at least 3 or 4 prime time games and a home game after a mid season bye. the jags, pats and chargers are the toughest teams but i think we will spilt with sd this year and we always pwn the pats. 9-7 isnt out of the question and who knows....maybe 10-6 and back into the playoffs guys. cutler needs to get to the playoffs....at least get there. this is by far the best schedule in years.

There is no way that we lose to the Saints, you can mark that down as a win right now. I know this because I will be at that game and they never lose when I'm at the game. Really I'm thinking 9-7 looks about right for the next year maybe 10-6.

Did you know that Broncos are 4-0 against the Patriots since Plummer's year? Last time, they beat the Patriots in New England was in the year of 2006. In addition, Broncos knocked them out in the playoff 2005. Champ Bailey vs. Randy Moss! I am sure that Moss will be trapped by CHAMP! Therefore, they have a chance to beat the Patriots again.

I think its too early to say how we will do, with the draft upcomming and all.

Once we draft i will give my thoughts, for now i would say9-11 wins.

If we cant stop the run then 6 wins, if we fixed it by ridding of bates then 9 wins. If we improve elsewhere then 10-11 wins. But i need to see how we draft.

Well, first I don't like the fact that we finish @ SD and I have to wait till the end of the year for that game.

JAX and NE in back to back weeks, that's going to be tough........we will need that bye after that.

Second half doesn't look that bad. I do see some chances for a good winning streak should things go right. Buffalo finally comes to Denver and the Elam reunion is set for Nov. 16th.

You take the schedule you are dealt with, so we'll just have to wait and see. However I am not fond of alternating home/road games to finish the year.

I think we have the potential to go 12-4. If we start out 2-0, then this is how I see it unfolding. If we drop a couple of these games that we should win...I'd say 10-6. Either way we're back in the playoffs.

It's not like we fell off the toilet seat folks. We shore up our rush defense....something that we've been pretty good at with the acception of last year and we protect the passer...then we'll be in good shape!

Wow, 5-11, some have us 1-6 or 0-7 around the bye? really? Guys we had a down year with a TON of injuries. We're not lowly teams that are going to lose to the freaking Jets, Chiefs, or even the Raiders this year. Tampa might be a challenge, same with N.O., but both are winnable games. If Denver doesn't win at least 10 games then our entire offseason has been a failure. We've upgraded this offseason (so far) not downgraded, so I don't see how people think that we'll be going 7-9 or 5-11 again. 2 losing seasons in 13 years. 2. Keep that in mind. Denver may have a bad year, but we don't stay bad for long.

But when you have almost no day one Draft choices on the team starting, and you HC has lived off of expensive FA's for almost a decade trying to shore it up for one more year pug in that hole with aging vets sooner or later it collapses..

I hate to say it but I think the house of cards shifted last year..

This team has one of the worst drafting records in the NFL...

Sure we had what looks like two solid years in a row.. and the potential for a third year.. But you do not win CONSISTENTLY with rookies in the line up..

To get to 10-6 you have to play consistent football and we have not done that since the PLAYOFF LOSS to PIT..

WE have lost or OC twice since then as well as our DC..

IMO we may be two drafts away from being great team again.. That is IF we do not do FUBAR on day one in both of them..

There won't be a losing season this year anyways. We're a DT away from having an improved defense in every aspect. We've already helped the offense as far as WR's. I think with who we have on the line, our line will be fine too, although I wouldn't be against picking up depth guys later in the draft. Maybe snag a LB or RB in the first few rounds, and get some o-line guys later, and trade for Robertson and our D-line is fixed. We should get 10 wins with the schedule we have at least.

My prediction of 5-11 maybe a bit harsh b/c I agree we may not be as bad as the stats say, and having 3 of the 5 starting O-linemen injured would have caused many teams to miss the playoffs.

However, a loosing season this year would allow Denver to possible draft in the top 10 in next years draft.

Denver seems to have discovered some luck with drafting the last two years. The 2006 and 2007 drafts appears to have several keepers and impact players. Now if the draft success can continue in 2008 and 2009, Denver should be ready to make some noise in the AFC west in 2009, and should be serious SB contenders in 2010.

Besides, I can't see Denver becoming active in the FA market over the two years. Bowlen has learned his lesson and wants to save money and cap space for a few years. Meanwhile, Denver can rebuild thru the Draft.

I don't see 5-11 being a stretch when we won four games off of a late-field goal last year.
