Very true we almost always play the Cards in pre-season.

I don't think we'll play either Arizona or SF this year in pre-season since we play the NFC west in the regular season. Other than that I will refrain from guessing cause I'll probably be extremely wrong :D.

I'd like to see Redskins at Invesco. Tough to match last year's drama with Cutler's return with the Bears but a Shanahan return would be interesting.

That would be very cool. I think shanny would get a warm welcome.

I think he would, too. If the nfl wants to boost its preseason tv ratings Wash at Denver would be a great matchup! (and they won't be playing each other until 2012 in the regular season)

Hasn't stopped them before...2006 we ended our preseason with Arizona and Played them in week 15, in 2002 we played SF, Arizona and Seattle in both the preseason and regular season. I would be almost willing to bet that we play at least Arizona.

Onto something completely different, I'm waiting to hear if I have to wait another year for season tickets or if I will be a first time season ticket holder this year. Has anyone else bought their first season tickets for this year? I'm gonna wait till thursday and then call.

redskins.....the return of shanny !
browns.....quinn crushes holmgren for kickin' him to the curb!
seattle....just the chance of marshall being on the other side makes this a possible barnburner!
new england....more practice for mcD's eventual afccg game win against the patsies !

does it matter rarely do we get to see much of the line up but for a few plays.

Yes it matters. Some people plan trips for pre-season games. We get to see some of our younger players and backups. We get to see people battle for spots on the roster. In game 2 the starters play the first half and in game 3 into the 3rd quarter. Why you being such a Debbie downer?

I'll be surprised if we don't play the Skins. That storyline would be too good for the NFL to pass up.

Also, hopefully I'll luck out and they'll come down to New Orleans.

I went to NFL.com to see what the trend has been over the past 10 years

AZ 9 (That's right, they were not on our 2001 pre-season schedule.)
Dal 5
Hou 5 (out of the 8 years that they have existed)
SF 5
Chi 3
GB 3
Sea 3
Ind 2
Buf (The closest that we have come to playing an east coast team in the pre-season)
Cle
Det
NO
Ten
Was (@ Canton, Ohio - HOF Game. We did not go to the east coast to play them and they did not come here from the east coast to play us. Therefore, they would not be classified as an east coast team in this case.)

Therefore, I would say 1 against AZ, 1 along the Pacific coast and 1 in TX. If the 4th game is not played against a team from the Great Lakes region, it will probably be a second game in either TX. The chances of us playing an east coast team is almost 0.

I've never seen nor heard the media hype a pre-season match up. I've seen & heard them hype the fact that the pre season games are an indicator that a new season of football is just around the corner. I've also seen & heard them hype a game being played, both pre season & regular season games, played over seas or across the border. However, I've never seen nor heard them hype the match up its self. The bottom line is that the pre season isn't about beating your opponents, but scout your own team in order to determine who will get what roster spots.

Because we played AZ in Den last year, there's a better then average chance that they will come to AZ this year. If that happen, I'll be looking forward to meeting some of you at the game.

they like to keep them near home and not against division teams it cuts the travel costs down.

SO your probably on the mark with this.

There was a bit of hype for the Denver-Chicago game last year in the preseason. I think a game against Washington would get a bit of hype as well.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Broncos fans, look to the north.

That is, the AFC North and NFC North -- the two conferences that hold the team's four 2010 preseason opponents.

Denver's preseason schedule was announced Wednesday, and the slate includes two rematches from the 2009 regular season, a nationally televised game and a trip to the NFC's runner-ups on Thursday night to close out the preseason.

The Broncos will kick off the preseason the same way they kicked off the 2009 regular season -- in Cincinnati.

It marks the 13th consecutive year the team has opened its preseason on the road, extending the club record. Denver has played 18 of its last 20 preseason openers away from home since 1990. But that hasn't stopped the team from having success -- the Broncos own a 12-3 record in their last 15 openers.

The Bengals and Broncos have met four times in the preseason, with Denver holding a 3-1 edge. The date of the opening contest has yet to be determined.

The following week the team will head back home to give INVESCO Field at Mile High its first taste of Broncos football in the 2010 campaign. The Detroit Lions will be the opponent, a team the Broncos have faced four times in the preseason. The teams have split the previous games, 2-2. The game will be played on Saturday, Aug. 21, at 7 p.m. MDT.

In Week 3 -- on Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. MDT -- the Pittsburgh Steelers will head to Denver for a nationally televised Sunday night game. The rematch of a 2009 Monday Night Football game will be the first time the two teams have met in the preseason. In the regular season, Denver owns a 13-7-1 series lead, and the two teams have split their six postseason matchups, 3-3.

The team will close out the preseason in Minnesota on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. MDT against the Vikings. Preseason finales have been kind to the Broncos in recent years -- the team is 10-1 in its last 11 finales, and Denver has won its last five. The Broncos and Vikings have squared off 11 times in the preseason, with Minnesota holding a 6-5 lead.

The preseason should provide some excitement in addition to a taste of what's to come in the 2010 season. Denver has won at least one preseason game in every year but one -- the club's inaugural 1960 campaign. The team has posted at least a .500 preseason record in 13 of the last 15 seasons, and since 2000, the team's record sits at 27-14.

The regular-season schedule will be released in April.

I got 1 out of 4 right. This is different...should be interesting. Easy sells for season ticket holders for the 2nd preseason game.

I love that the 3rd game is against Pittsburgh. That's the game that the starters usually play 3 quarters, before sitting the last game. You want to have it against a quality opponent. Very nice.
