From an interview on Sirius radio.

Champ would take Chad in a heartbeat, Ocho Cinco celebrations, "attitude" issues, and all.

Short, but pretty good blog on it, with promises of direct quotes later:

what he got to sy about brandon is what i want to know. Chad here, ya that would be cool, but to many guys i think are teeter-tottering on the edge. And all they need is one guy to influence them and get them to go bad.

ex. travis, thomas, brandon?. We need our guys to stay in line and not do stupid stuff.

But if we had CJ for our 2nd and j stew for our 1st. I donthink it would matter what our defense did, because we would be able to outscore anyone.

There's room if Chad wants to come. Marshall got to come back from the TV incident and they want to keep Stokley in the slot. Martinez could stay in as the fourth WR and kick returner. Everyone else is just a big question mark.

WRs on the roster
16 McDaniel, Marquay (http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=498&contentID=7259) WR 5' 10" 205 23 1st Hampton FA-'07

Chad Chad.....hmmm..... I like Chad as a player. He is very talented and the guy will block. He also he is a hard worker.

Character wise I think he's an ok guy. His celebrations don't bother me at all. I think he's a very fun person. I also think he can flourish in a different system and he would blossom as a team player if he was anywhere but Cin and Oak. The Bengals as a team are bunch of misfits. I feel bad for Carson Palmer, he is super talented and stuck on a team full of degenerates. Chad deserves a shot to prove the nay sayers wrong......He's never been bad for football like TO, who Shanny was considering bringing in awhile back.

cj and bmarsh on either side. damn thats scary! actually its an upgrade from walker...id like us to burn a 2nd on him and trade back with our 1st to help pick up a late 1st and 3rd. maybe pick up stewart and burn the 3rd on a good ot or dt. imagine our offense then. makes you wonder though if bailey wants cj on the broncos so he doesnt have to cover his ass anymore.

I would love a guy like Ocho Cinco on our team with the talent he has. I mean he is the only WR outside of Denver that I like. His endzone celebrations crack me up.....too bad the NFL takes all the fun away. However it would take too much to get him when we have other holes to fill. Also, since the Bengals got rid of Henry I don't see them trading Chad away leaving only TJ.

Unfortunatly, This team has to fill a few more holes on the lines before they can go get that one player to that costs too much in picks and cash but would take them over the hump. Chad would not make this team instantly a contender, so it seems like a waste to me..
Cinci would no doubtly want a 1st for him.

besides, do we really want a guy who is going to have to make a complete and total douche out of himself to make a trade happen? the bungles aren't just going to give him away because he whines a little bit, especially after cutting chris henry. . . it's going to get ugly if he tries to force his way out of there-- what happens after we give up a high pick for the guy and then he holds out for a ridiculous contract? drew rosenbitch IS the guy's agent, after all. . .

I just can't help but think it would turn into another JWalk situation. We would pay a ton for him in picks and cash, a lot more than JWalk cost on both, he would have a good year or two, then want out and start problems.

I could be way way way off base, but I don't see much good coming out of signing CJ except for very short term. He will not get us where we need to go, an with the cash cow we would have to let out to get him we wouldn't be able to afford the rest of the players we need to get there.

It isn't worth it to sign him short because of the enormous cost. And if he's sincere that his desire to leave has to do with Bengals underachieving I don't think he wants to come to Denver right now unless he thinks we're on track to get better.

I also do not see the Bengals letting him go because that would kill their depth at wide receiver.

As a Bengals fan I am well aware that our success is tied to Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson. If we did trade him, we would take an eight million dollar cap hit that the Broncos or whomever could not absorb.

As far as character issues go, Chad Johnson has repeatedly said that he loves Cincinnati and the fans. His beef is with Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown. In the defense of Chad Johnson Marvin Lewis stopped talking to him late in the season. In the defense of Chad again I would also point out that year after year the defense is bad for whatever reason, and the Bengals have failed colossally at finding a suitable center to replace Rich Braham.

Chad Johnson is my favorite player of all time, and he wants to win. He doesn't want to become the "Wide receiver version of Dan Marino, and that isn't how Chad Johnson wants to be known as". Look, I got flak for saying it last time, but when you average 1400 yards for your career and will end up in the top ten of almost every last major stat catergory for WR you are going to be a hall of famer.

He said he isn't sitting out, so the dude isn't really a bad person.

If he did have to go, I would like to see him go to a good team.

If it is Cleveland I will end my life however.

I don't think Champ REALLY wants Chad Johnson. I see this as more of a message. I think Champ is saying "I'm fed up of this crap team and how crap our front office is. Fix our damn problems or else..." Champ is a classy guy, but we must remember he is a legendary player on a below average team. He is not the kind of guy who plays on teams that will go 6-10, 5-11 or 4-12 (what we are going to go this season unless we have an amazing draft). I understand Champ's fustration.

I don't see how you get that kind of ultimatum out what he said. Champ has never sent cryptic messages like that before. Champ has always said what really means. I think he meant what he said, he would like Jay to be surrounded by top notch weapons so that he can preform at his very best.

Nothing wrong with that either. As fans we don't want to wait long either for the Broncos to turn things around. I just hope that the players understand that they are the ones on the field and they are the ones that have to win games. So Step Up and WIN!

I really don't think Chad is the problem in Cincy; I watched his interview on ESPN video, and he seems pretty okay. Like he said, he's always performed on the field, and he's never had any off the field problems for the organization. He's outspoken and flambouyant with his celebrations and his personality, but in my opinion, Marvin Lewis is handling this thing wrong.

It's like Bill Parcell's story about firing a QB for sleeping during a lecture, yet he'd wake Troy up. Some stars are worth the extra attention; when has Chad not performed for his team? Lewis putting Chad in his doghouse in public is not something you do with one of your franchise players. Heck, in another article, Lewis implies it was Carson's fault the offense wasn't that good this season.

If all we had to give up was a 1st or 2nd I personally wouldn't mind the trade. Imagine Chad going deep, Marshall on a post of deep in route, and Stokely on a slant. Can't cover just one player. If we had to give up a 1st I'd like a 3rd or 4th with Chad. I know it will never happen.
