i can't find anything about the injuries of ko simpson and kevin everett...

has anyone heard anything or found a link as to the severity.. simpson's obviously looked terrible, and almost made me puke (as some of you know, i broke my femur once, and now can't stand the image of floppy extremities )

and everett's also looked bad, and he didn't give any thumbs up or anything.

if anyone finds out? let us know?

yeah, i saw that right after i posted this, but it still doesn't say anything that we don't know by having watched the game. simpson's injury was obviously very serious, and everett's could be very serious, or just precautions (like paymah's injury was). although i am worried that everett didn't show any signs of moving arms or legs on the broadcast...

Bills TE Everett knocked cold (http://www.newspress.com/Top/Article/article.jsp?Section=SPORTS&ID=565083921076062273)

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Kevin Everett was in a hospital under observation for a cervical spinal injury after the Buffalo Bills tight end was knocked cold and taken off the field in an ambulance Sunday.

Coach **** Jauron provided no further update on Everett's status following the Bills 15-14 season-opening loss to Denver. And Jauron wouldn't say whether the player regained consiousness on the field or en route to the hospital.

Everett fell immediately to the ground and showed no signs of consciousness after a helmet-to-helmet hit when he tackled Denver's Domenik Hixon during a kickoff to open the second half. Everett was placed on a backboard with his head and body immobilized, and carefully loaded into an ambulance at the Broncos 30.

Sounds nasty, hope he recovers OK

The thing that scared me was when after the hit his upper body started spasming.

I really hope nothing bad happened on that play.

yeah, it seemed very similar to paymah's injury, as far as the spasms go. paymah's upper body clenched and scared me too, but he made sure to give a thumb's up as they prepared him to leave the field, which everett didn't.

*cough*mcr still sucks*cough* :D:D:D:elefant:

I really hope he is ok. I looked cervical spinal injury up on google and it seems like this type of injury is common in sports. But the fact that he did spasm and he did not move makes it worse. If your interested in reading more about this type of injury, here is the link to what I read: http://www.emedicine.com/orthoped/topic370.htm

Bills' Everett suffers serious neck injury

AFP
September 9, 2007
BUFFALO, United States (AFP) - Buffalo special teams player Kevin Everett suffered a spinal injury in the Bills' National Football League season-opener against the denver Broncos on Sunday.

Everett was stetchered off the field and hospitalized after colliding with Denver Broncos returner Domenik Hixon on the second-half kickoff.

It appeared to be a freak injury for Edwards, who slammed into Hixon as the return man hit the wedge and broke his tackle.

He immediately fell to the turf and lost consciousness before being transported off the field by ambulance.

"Kevin Everett has a cervical spine injury and is under further evaluation," Buffalo coach **** Jauron said.

Buffalo also lost two defensive starters to injury in the heartbreaking 15-14 loss to the Broncos.

Ko Simpson had to be carted off the field with a left ankle injury 10 minutes into the contest, and linebacker Coy Wire hurt his knee on the same drive.

"With the amount of injuries and, with one serious injury, possibly, it definitely changes the mood and makes (losing) even worse," Bills quarterback J.P. Losman said.

A quick update that I've just seen ~

Bills TE Everett has surgery (http://stats.nypost.com/fb/story.asp?i=20070910001919610000101&ref=hea&tm=)

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) Kevin Everett had surgery Sunday evening, hours after the Buffalo Bills reserve tight end showed no signs of movement after sustaining a severe neck injury in the team's season opener against Denver.

Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold said he was informed by the team's medical staff the player went into surgery at a Buffalo hospital at about 8 p.m. Berchtold said he had no further information, and didn't know whether Everett had shown any signs of movement since he was driven off the field in an ambulance.
