Now that the defensive line and nickel corner have been adressed in free agency, the one glaring need left for the Denver Broncos is in the middle of the offensive line. Center is a critical position to an offense. Besides handling the ball on every offensive play, they are also required to be the quarterback of the offensive line. The ability to read the defensive alignment prior to the snap and call out protection adjustments are an important facet of any NFL center's job description. Let's take a look at the top 2 available:

1. Kevin Mawae- 6'4 290 Mawae did a wonderful job for the Titans last season, helping Chris Johnson eclipse the 2000 yard rushing mark. Selected to his 6th pro bowl, he is also a 3 time all-pro. Entering his 17th season, one must wonder how much he has left in the tank. He has publicly stated that he wants to go to a team that will afford him a chance become a starter. It won't be a hard sell for the Broncos.

2. Rex Hadnot- 6'2 320 Hadnot came to Denver last week for a visit, leading me to assume that he was the Broncos first choice to replace Wiegmann. He offers great size, and the versatility to play either guard position also. The 6 year veteran is a solid run blocker. The Broncos want to get better at running the ball, so this move would make sense. Although he left town without a contract, don't count him out of the race. The 2 sides may come to an agreement yet.
