They say things happen in threes. Miami, St Louis,...Buffalo? I have a wierd feeling about this game. Maybe its the week 1 thing or maybe its the effect on western teams going east.

Didn't we win the first game 5 years in a row before the last 3 years where we lost all three?

You guys are a little too concerned about this game. A few years ago the packers started the season 1-4 and were one stop away from getting to the NFC title game. I take little stock in having the first game be extremly important but as long as we win down the strech it will be good.

I thought it was 2 years in a row. I think 2004 was the year we opened against KC at home and Griffin lit them up. I think that was also the game where Jake threw that left handed intercetion inside of our own 20 yard line. And no, it couldnt have been five years in a row of winning the opener prior to that. In 2000 we lost at St Louis and in 2005 we lost at Miami. That leaves 4 years.

We have a young team and a lot of new pieces and this game should, in theory, be one of the easier games. So its kind of important because it will be harder to get it back against a lot of the other teams we play.

I'm not sure we can lose to the Bills if we try. No squandering here.

i am def more confident in this years opener than most years . . . i think we have a new breath with Cutler . . . .i do see an Int and a fumble but nothing like Jakes 5 turnovers last year man that was awful

i think we come out full force, i just get the feeling bates and shanny are hiding something . . . like they didnt put much effort into the preseaosn, other than getting peoples techniques right . . . .boy do i hope im right

It looks to me like not only a win but a big win.

It's ok to have that feeling because the ingredients are all there. Early game, first game of the year, being east of the Miss River, playing a mediocre team, it's deja vu all over again.

The BRONCOS will win the game but will struggle also. Many have said it's not the score or how you win, all that matters is that 'W' at the end!

Just in case anyone is wondering...

2006 at St. Louis Rams | L | 10-18
2005 at Miami Dolphins | L | 10-34
2004 Kansas City Chiefs | W | 34-24
2003 at Cincinnati Bengals | W | 30-10
2002 St. Louis Rams | W | 23-16
2001 New York Giants | W | 31-20
2000 at St. Louis Rams | L | 36-41
1999 Miami Dolphins | L | 21-38
1998 New England Patriots | W | 27-21
1997 Kansas City Chiefs | W | 19- 3
1996 New York Jets | W | 31- 6
1995 Buffalo Bills | W | 22- 7
1994 San Diego Chargers | L | 34-37
1993 at New York Jets | W | 26-20

See a trend here?

Lose 2 - Win 4

The 1st of our next 4 opening day wins is upon us!

given that the bills are worse than any of the teams we have played in the past 11 years on opening day then i would say we will win this one. in fact i think we win with ease...even in buffalo. if we cant beat a below average team then were in for a long year. our team has way more talent and i think our guys are hungrier.

Good call. You were right but so was I. There was definitely reason to be concerned. Aside from the stuff I mentioned at the outset, it seemed like there were things happening that were spelling doom for us. Im glad, they staved of the omens.

Fair enough, however there were things they were doing that were good. First and foremost in a tight game they found away to win. They did get pressure on Losman and they held him to under 100 yards passing.

Sure Lynch did pretty well in his rookie debut 19 carries for 90 yards and touchdown however we ran well and passed well. Cutler had his first 300 yard game today a with a touchdown included.

Yeah, Im glad we pulled it out, its just that yet again, we didnt have our 'A' game on opening day...it was more like our 'C' game. But youre right, we did enough good things to win in the end.
