its a sign of the defense. When you aren't scoring more points, but winning by bigger margins... is a sure sign that the defense isn't giving up 30 pts!
The defense was much improved for sure

Different stats, same results. When we're a + in the wins department, it'll be relevant.

true at the end of the day, we were still an 8-8 team. it was an IMPROVED 8-8 team, one that seems to be on the way up instead of on teh way down, but still has work to do to get better, not stay the same or get worse.

just thought its worth pointing out that this team was competitive in alot of its losses unlike the 08 team, and did ok on offense, though clearly nothing special there.

Here are some more stats to give, IMO, a better idea of the offensive production. Of the 370 points scored in 2008, there were 25 field goals and no punt or kick-off points. Of this year's 326 points there were 30 field goals, a punt return for a TD, and a kick-off return for a TD.

If one is looking at purely offensive production, 2008 produced 295 points. This last season produced a total of 224 points.

I was disappointed after 2008 for the lack of scoring. I guess I didn't know when I had it good.

That would be the glass half empty approach. Personnally, I loved watching the defense move from 28th to 7th in the league. We gave up over 200 points less than 2008. The last few games were hard to swallow, but at least we saw some dominating defense at times last year. That's my glass half full. I'll focus on it.

lemme put it this way...we scored half our points in 5 games in 2008. what happened the other 11?

Sorry, I can't see how an offense scoring only 3/4 as many points as what most on this board considered a weak scoring team can be good. If you view it that way. please enlighten me.

I think people pretty much new that from the 6-0 start. However, the second half collapse was exactly the same down the stretch and thats what is most disturbing about last season.

who said its a good thing that we scored less points?

this is a team sport, its a good thing the team allowed significantly less points and remained more competitive in our losses than we did last year, and won by more points when we did win. look at the entire picture instead of focusing on a microdetail that allows you to continue your hate fest

People expect perfection immediately. That's their problem. if the defense continues to improve and the offense gets on track, we'll be a playoff team. Unfortunately, Rome wasnt built in a day, so the Broncos must suck.

wow !!! SOME PEOPLE

did it ever occur to fargo that we won by more points in 2009...because our defense wasnt allowing 28 points per game like they did in 08...does it occur to him that we win by more...not because we score more...but because our defense allows less?? its not rocket science..therefor if we allow more points..chances are when you lose you lose by more and when you win you win by less???

our offense was pathetic in 09...useing 25 points as a benchmark...3 points lower then the average given up in 08...our defense allowed 25 points or more 7 times...we lost all 7 games

And that our defense was so pathetic that year we lost by more points per game that we did in 09 despite the fact you claim we had a pathetic offense.

Our offense was not that great last year but overall the team was better than the year before. They stayed in and were competitive in more games and the record was the same. Despite a new system, new coaches and many many new players as well as a much tougher schedule.
