For vet minimum, if he gets past the FBI background check for no illegitimate kids and does not beat his wife/girlfriend. And does not go to Obamas church..

How about Feline AIDS?

Just because something is avaliable doesn't mean it's something I want.

Only if he agrees to pay us and never steps on the field.

Then I might think about it.

2007 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 71 | Key
Alert: D

Comment: Jackson is crafty, experienced and pretty athletic. He can be productive on all three levels of the passing game. He has good short-area quickness and elusiveness in his releases off the line. He plays fast and can quickly close cushions against cornerbacks in off coverage. He is an excellent route runner. He is quick out of his routes, has a good setup and plays with balance and control. He gets his head and hands around quickly on outside speed cuts. He has solid hands and can adjust to catch outside his frame. He can move through traffic, go over the middle and catch in a crowd. He is elusive after the catch and has a nice stiff-arm. But Jackson lacks prototype No. 1 receiver skills. He isn't very big, fast or strong. He has a history of drops. He isn't a consistent or physical blocker, and he takes some plays off on the back side. He has missed significant playing and practice time the last two years, so durability is a major concern.

hmmm. . . .

darrell jackson: 487 receptions for 6,942 yards (average 14.3) and 50 touchdowns

keary colbert: 109 receptions for 1,424 yards (average 13.1) and 7 touchdowns

no, don't remind me-- colbert is a "great" signing, since we got him on the cheap because no one else wanted him. . . .

I wouldn't mind if Denver brought him in. He's played in West Coast style offense his entire career so I don't think it would be to hard for him to adapt.

Per PFT....
"HACKETT LANDS IN CAROLINA
Posted by Mike Florio on March 17, 2008, 12:19 p.m.

The Carolina Panthers continue to load up on pass catchers who might benefit from all the attention that Steve Smith receives.

After bringing back Muhsin Muhammad, the team has now added D.J. Hackett, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks.

Per Adam Schefter of NFL Network and Adam Caplan of Scout.com, Hackett will sign a two-year, $3.5 million deal with the Panthers.

Hackett has shown flashes of ability during his NFL career, but that potential wasn’t enough to get a team to open its wallet wider than $1.75 million per year.

Other teams interested in Hackett were the Seahawks, the Redskins, and the Buccaneers.

The Panthers also have Dwayne Jarrett, a second-round pick in 2007, and Travis Taylor, a well-traveled first-round pick of the Ravens in 2000."

Ugly. I cant believe we paid more for Colbert, than Hackett got paid. That is a steal for Carolina. At first Ithought Colbert wasnt a horrible pickup, based on the assumption that Hackett and Bryant woudl go for big money, but this just makes me wonder if we are doing our due diligence. I mean did we ever even call Hackett's agent, see what type of humbers they were talking about? How about Bryant Johnson, the market for him was evidently pretty bare. He only ended up signing a 1 yr deal bc no one the offers he had must have been substandard. Even the terms werent released, which usually happens when the agent feels like he got a bad deal. So I wonder idd we even bother contacting Johnson or Hackett?

2 year 3.5 million for hackett.

why the hell wouldn't we want him back in CO?

i don't like it, either we think colbert can be our #2 or we are going WR early in the draft. either way, i'd rather go another direction. hackett would have helped us.
