Earlier this Re-Loading season, MileHighReport.com ran a 4-part series, breaking down the importance of John Lynch. Now another Bronco that is squarely in the middle of roster controversy gets the spotlight.
Check out Part 1 of the series breaking down D.J., the different positions he plays and what it all means to the Broncos....

Mecklenburg played all front 7 postions............DE's, DT's and all Linebacking spots....................DJ playing all three LB'er positions makes him so well rounded, and he's only 25 years old. ..................Played 4 seasons, one at Weakside, two at Strongside and one season at Middle, and is only 25? ..............Pretty damn impressive.
I'd still like D.J. to be our starting MLB, at least when he's able, with a strong Strong Side LB who can play multiple spots beside him, plus serving as his backup. Add a rookie fourth or fifth LB you can groom to come in later and the age of Gold becomes much less worrisome. The nice thing is you can have a rookie, whom you know can't immediately read NFL QBs, playing a straight forward Sam slot for a few seasons alongside a capable MLB, then smoothly transition into that roll behind the aging vet. What I wanted to do with Wilson, back when we still could.
