Garrett Atkins hit a solo HR in the 2nd, then Ianetta did too. 2-0
In the 3rd, with Helton and Holliday on base, Garrett slams another one out! 5-0
In the 4th, with Matsui and Tulo on, Holliday singles, and the on basers run in for 2 more! 7-0

And, Garrett and Tulo have both caught Bonds out!

OK.

So the win against the D'Backs Friday night was awesome, too bad our momentum couldn't carry over to last night. Hopefully we can paly decently tonight.

Aaron Cook pitched last night for the springs and re-injured his muscle so he might not even be back this season. I hate to say it but things aren't exactly looking good right now.

Joe Koshansky got called up with the roster expansion which excites me, he is a great player.

I've also heard rumors of a Garrett Atkins trade from a source that I cannot trust, but I am still curious if anyone else knows anything about this.

I hope this thread will be as good as the other one on the other boards. :D

Trusting skanks is bad!

This is the truth, but you never know it could happen. :( The Rockies would go down like 4 hotness points if that happened and whatever team he went to would gain. Its tragic.:fear:

I know it's a possibility.

I don't get why they'd get rid of the guy who was drafted as Helton's future replacement, who is an offensive leader, and keep Helton who is not the player he once was.

Silly silly silly!

TIEBREAKER TRAVELS: The Rockies were involved in eight of the 28 coin flips and fared well in the Wild Card flips and weren't as lucky in the division race. If the Rockies tied for the National League West title, they would play at home against the Dodgers and on the road against the Diamondbacks and Padres.

In case of a tie in the Wild Card -- which at four games back the Rockies are a more likely candidate -- they would host a one-game playoff against the Padres, Dodgers, Phillies and Brewers. If the Rockies tied with the Cubs, they would travel to Chicago.

A thing that Braun has to is that he was not up wit hthe Brew Crew at the begining of the season and he has put up those offensive numbers in 90 gmaes!

3 out in the wild card! Used a boat load of pitchers last night, Herges continues to impress with his solid innings and vetern leadership. Offense really game through early, waited a while but the 5 runs in the 8th inning were very nice.

Well game will be on FSN tomorrow at 1 MST, with the Broncos starting at 11 am MST, should be a very full day tomorrow. (College football is on tonight)
I myself will be at the Lobos-Aggies game so I will be checking the score on the cell.

In Jeff Francis' last meeting against the Padres, he tied his shortest Major League outing, lasting only 3 1/3 innings.
Francis, who has been the Rockies surest bet to eat up innings this season, needs to do just that Saturday against the Padres.

The Rockies set a National League record and tied the Major League record by using 10 pitchers in nine innings Friday night at Coors Field. Only three of their relief pitchers did not make an appearance.

Francis has averaged 6 1/3 innings this season in 29 starts.

"That's a good thing about it," catcher Yorvit Torrealba said. "Jeff, he's usually at least six, seven innings almost every start."

Pitching matchup
COL: LHP Jeff Francis (15-6, 4.12 ERA)
Francis recorded back-to-back wins against the Giants the last two weeks. The first was a shutout, and in the second game -- Monday at Coors Field -- Francis did not have his best stuff, but mixed and matched his pitches and lasted 5 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on nine hits.

SD: RHP Greg Maddux (11-9, 3.75 ERA)
Maddux won for the fourth time in his last five starts by pitching into the seventh inning in the Padres' 10-2 victory over Arizona on Sept. 3. Maddux got 11 groundouts and was as efficient as ever in successfully navigating his way through the Diamondbacks lineup. Maddux hasn't walked a batter in 48 1/3 innings and has given the team a lift since the All-Star break, especially during a stretch where Chris Young missed three starts and the fifth spot in the starting rotation has gone unclaimed after the team parted ways with David Wells last month

Player to watch
Matt Holliday is 10-for-24 against Maddux with a pair of doubles, triples and home runs and he has six RBIs.

The Milwaukee Brewers had a difficult second half until recently, but no one could blame Ryan Braun.

The 23-year-old third baseman is enjoying the kind of rookie campaign that could make him the Brewers' first Rookie of the Year Award winner since Pat Listach in 1992.

Braun, who wasn't called up from the Minor Leagues until May 24, reached 25 home runs faster than any player since Mark McGwire in 1987, and if he gets enough at-bats to qualify, he has a chance to lead the league in slugging (.648) and hitting (.328). At his current pace, Braun would break the all-time rookie record slugging percentage of .621 set in 1930 by George Watkins of the St. Louis Cardinals.

While Braun looks like the clear favorite, the class of 2007 National League rookies is very deep, with Colorado shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, Houston center fielder Hunter Pence and Arizona center fielder Chris Young among the probable short list of contenders for the award.

Here's a look at the candidates for the 2007 NL Rookie of the Year Award, listed alphabetically:

FAVORITES

Ryan Braun, Milwaukee Brewers: Braun came up in May, and although he's played only 85 games, he's among the NL rookie leaders in home runs (30), batting average (.328), RBIs (79), runs (74), total bases (245), on-base percentage (.372), slugging percentage (.648) and extra-base hits (56). It's not often a rookie is called up from the Minor Leagues to a contending team and hits so well he's deservedly placed in the third spot in the lineup, but that's what Braun did. Perhaps the only category in which Braun comes in second to the other rookie contenders is defense.

Hunter Pence, Houston: Pence also came up late and also went on the disabled list with a broken right wrist before returning Aug. 21, but in 91 games Pence has put up eye-popping numbers: 52 runs, 125 hits, 14 homers, 50 extra-base hits, 56 RBIs, 211 total bases and a .323 batting average. The center fielder is getting a look at leadoff during the final month of the season. He's also been outstanding defensively.

Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado Rockies: Tulowitzki has the numbers (.290, 81 runs, 151 hits, 19 homers, 80 RBIs, 48 extra-base hits and 241 total bases). He also plays a demanding position (shortstop) for a contending team. The only potential hurdle for his candidacy is several of his numbers are lower than Braun's, and Braun has played 40 fewer games and has 143 fewer at-bats.

DARK HORSES

Josh Hamilton, Cincinnati Reds: Hamilton has played fewer games (88) and has the fewest at-bats (291) of any of the contenders as a result of injury but has good numbers and leads all rookies in outfield assists. Hamilton also has a shot at Comeback Player of the Year.

Chris Young, Arizona: Young is among the rookie leaders in home runs (29) and leads in extra-base hits (58) and stolen bases (24) and plays great defense for a contender. Batting average (.238) and strikeouts (120) are negatives.

HONORABLE MENTION

Yunel Escobar, Braves; Mike Fontenot, Cubs; Norris Hopper, Reds; Kevin Kouzmanoff, Padres; Tim Lincecum, Giants; James Loney, Dodgers; Peter Moylan, Braves; Mark Reynolds, Diamondbacks; Carlos Ruiz, Phillies.

I think everyone here knows who should win. GO TULO!!!

BTW I think today is the first time in history that the rockies have been on the mlb.com story rotator thing TWICE! holy crap!!

WHY! WHY!

The Rockies just can not get over this damn late inning lose thing this year. They had to finish off this ball game, they had Philly down and were going to set a big statement in game 1. You can not go oh well, he has been good all year anymore! This is a race for October and everybody has to step up, pitchers included.

Its just frustrating when again Ubaldo goes out there and gives another great performance and the bull pen loses it late. Rockies still have 3 games! Splits won't cut it. They will be out there playing hard tomorrow, lets hope that the Phillys do not get hot after this win.

IMO it all came crashing down with Affeldt, it always seems like that at least. As much as I like Jeremy whenever I see him come on to the field I get really scared. :ahhhhh:

No matter what happens with the Rockies this season, but isn't it GREAT to actually be talking Rockies baseball this late into September?

I really hope that those who sign the checks see this and re-sign the Holliday's and Atkins, and whoever else to this team for a loooooooong time.

They hate to spend the money. Do they not realize that if they put a better team on the field each and every year that they will actually make a TON more money?

Atkins is involved with a ton of trade rumors right now, with Ian Stewart coming up...but we'll see. Everyone knows that Holliday needs to be locked up for a long *** time. If he isn't the few fans that the Rockies have are gone...it would be incredibly stupid....and in the future I can see the same thing happening with Tulowitzki.

And yes, it is GREAT to be talking about the Rockies so late in the season...we arent just waiting for the season to end so we can look forward to next year, we have a reason to keep turning on the TV and watching them play. Not only are they winning, but they are playing EXCITING baseball. :D

In my opinion, of the guys that are on the regular roster right now they need to lock up Holliday, Tulo, Francis, Cook, and Atkins. Atkins can move to 1st and make room for Ian.

I really think you need to keep the key core players in order to build a good franchise.

I agree, I know its almost anti-Rockies for me to say this, but I think Todd Helton wouldnt be terrible to give up. If we could trade him somewhere for some sort of pitching it would be awesome. That way we could keep Atkins and Stewart. The younger talent is going to carry this team far, and more leaders have emerged in the clubhouse. He isnt the backbone of the team anymore, which to me is one of the biggest factors in our winning, at least IMO. Holliday, Torrealba and even Tulo are all team leaders, and its important to realize that Todd isnt even the biggest fan favorite anymore. Its pretty obvious that Rockies fans are crazy about Matt Holliday and want him here for as long as possible.

i know exactly where you are coming from. I am a huge Helton fan but see and realize that he isn't playing like we all know him to play.

FOr being 4th in the lineup, he is not playing like it.

I am not sure we can get a trade for him. If we could, that would be great. Maybe to an American league team and he can hit DH, but its not his fielding that is hurting...its his bat.

So i am not sure.

I don't see him in a Rockies Uni next year.

The biggest problem is his contract, and he has the no trade clause, so if he doesnt want to go her wont. But I think that if its best for the Rockies he will do it.

I saw this article in the RMN:

5 teams Helton would consider
Posted: Friday August 31, 2007 08:03AM ET

Todd Helton does know hot-stove conversations will be filled with speculation about his future with the Rockies. He endured public scrutiny last offseason when Boston twice tried to work out a trade, which he indicated he would approve, only to have the Rockies end talks because they wanted prospects the Red Sox wouldn't include in the package. The Angels also approached the Rockies, but that didn't go far because Helton indicated he wouldn't accept a move to Anaheim. Other than Boston, the only teams Helton has indicated he would seriously consider are Atlanta, St. Louis, Texas and Houston.

I dont understand why he would want to go to Texas AT ALL. But whatever, its his choice right? I think Atlanta would be a cool place for him to go, remember the Big Cat went there after he left us? I always kinda like the Braves because of that, Andres was my fave player when I was younger.

I do too, but I think it would be GREAT for him if he could get a ring. For someone who has been as consistent in his career and such a pure swing and hitter...not too mention should get a golden glove..deserves to get a ring. Its not going to happen here...( atleast in his playing time ) so I would love to see him go get one elsewhere. Maybe replace Giambi in NY???

A little off topic, they just reported on am950 the fan that the Rockies have the 3rd lowest payroll in MLB. They could afford to raise ticket prices a dollar or two if it meant signing their talent and putting a good team on the field.

Yeah, I am very aware of how much money each player makes. Todd is making about 16 million, the highest paid guy on the team. The second highest? Matt Holliday with about 4 million I think...loswest paid players on the team are Tulo, Hirsh, and someone else who I cant remember, making about 365,000 each.

If it means keeping Holliday, Atkins, Tulo, Hawpe all those great players around, I dont mind spending a few extra bucks on tickets. Right now $4 Rock pile seats is a HECK of a deal. Raise it to $8 and its still a steal!

I think I heard that the average ticket for the entire stadium is $16.50. Another great deal.

Post season or no post season, the Rockies are frickin amazing. They deserve more respect for what they do every day. They go out and give it their all, and play with more heart and passion than a lot of other teams. There is a reason why you never leave a Rockies game early, you can never write this team off. They have found so many ways to come back and win games that looked to be in the books, of course things have gone the opposite way too...but lets not speak of that right now.

This season is great, no matter what I think it is a turning point for the franchise and I think that everyone should have high expectations for the Rockies in 2008.

I said it recently, but Holliday IS the player of the month. I never really thought about an MVP until today when the announcers were talking about it.

As far as I am concerned, its Holliday and Fielder. Fielder might make the post season and Holliday not, but no one on this planet can say we would be 9 games over .500 without him.

As Rockies fans we need to root against the Brewers every chance that we can. Braun and Fielder are our guy's biggest competition. If we get to the post season and we dont then our guys will be in the spotlight a bit more.

I dont know what the chances are that Matt gets MVP AND Tulo gets ROY, but I would feel soooo robbed if one of them didnt win.

Heck yes. And if HRs is all the counts towards R.O.Y thats complete BS. Braun sucks at defense. He has like 32 Errors and Troy has like 11. UM HELLO. And anyway, Troy has 22 HRs...THATS AMAZING FOR A ROOKIE SS. SS is also a way more demanding position than 3rd. But ... whatever.

I was listening to Lois and JJ on KOA850,after the game today, and they were talking about Troy and Matt. First, in regards to Troy, I thought they said that he had more hrs than any other rookie ss had ever had in their rookie year. ALSO, they ran soundbites of the Pittsburgh Pirates broadcasters today, who were PROMOTING Matt for MVP, during their broadcast of the Pirates/Padres game. That helps, coming from the East.

Clint said that mom and baby are healthy. Clint celebrated the event by placing cigars in the lockers of his Rockies' teammates and coaches prior to Thursday's game.

Only Nomar Garciaparra has more, at 30.

SAN DIEGO – These Rockies are looking for better things than being the best in franchise history.

It was an afterthought that they set a franchise record for victories in a season with a 7-3 victory on Sunday afternoon that completed a sweep against the NL wild-card leading San Diego Padres.

``That’s nice,’’ right fielder Brad Hawpe said, ``but it’s not enough.’’

These Rockies have postseason aspirations on their mind.

And with the weekend sweep at Petco Park what seemed impossible turned possible, even if not probable. Not only have they won 84 games – one more than in both 1996 and 1997 – but with six games remaining in the regular season, they are just 1 ˝ games behind the Padres and a game back of Philadelphia in the NL wild-card race. THe Rockies also extended their winning streak to eight games, their longest since they won a club-record nine in a row Aug. 26-Sept. 5, 1997.

``Mission accomplished here,’’ manager Clint Hurdle said. ``Now we have to pick up and go down the road. We still have unfinished business.’’

The Rockies are off Monday before they open a three-game series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Tuesday. They then return to Coors Field for a three-game series against NL West-leading Arizona that will wrap up the regular season. And then?

``We haven’t gotten involved in math,’’ Hurdle said. ``We’ll just play the next game and see where that puts us.’’

Thanks to eight strong innings from Jeff Francis -- as he equaled the franchise record with his 17th win this season -- and the off day, the bullpen should be fully rested for the opener in Los Angeles, and cleanup hitter Matt Holliday said he also will be ready to return to the lineup after missing the last two games with a strained oblique muscle.

``You want to be part of this,’’ Holliday said. ``Things are happening.’’

Strange things, included.

On Sunday, Garrett Atkins had his first inside-the-park home run since Little League, ``if you want to count one of those balls you hit between the outfielders and it just keeps rolling.’’ The Padres lost center fielder Mike Cameron and left fielder Milton Bradley in back-to-back innings. And Brad Hawpe continued his sudden surge against left-handed pitchers.

Cameron suffered a swollen right hand when he fell chasing Atkins’ drive, in the seventh, and Bradley became so enraged at an ejection by first base umpire Mike Winters in the eighth that Bradley suffered a right knee injury when manager Bud Black threw him to the ground to keep him from bumping Winters. Cameron and Bradley will both undergo MRIs before joining the Padres in San Francisco.

Hawpe not only singled to ignite a four-run fourth against Greg Maddux on Sunday, he also homered off lefty Justin Hampson in the ninth, which came in the aftermath of his run-scoring single off Hampson in Saturday’s 6-2 victory, and delivering the game-winning home run off lefty Joe Thatcher in Friday’s 2-1, 14-inning victory.

But then abnormal has become normal for the Rockies.

This is a team that was 18-27 back in mid-May. In the 15 days from July 26 through Aug. 10 they lost Opening Day starter Aaron Cook, No. 3 starter Rodrigo Lopez and No. 4 starter Jason Hirsh to season-ending injuries. Last weekend they lost two out of three – at home – to a Florida team that shares the worst record in the NL with Pittsburgh.

Yet, here the Rockies are, peeking at scoreboards that show Philadelphia losing 6-3 to Washington, and then going about the business at hand of taking on the challenge of future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux and his Padres teammates and not backing down.

Todd Helton doubled home a run in the third, and capped off a four-run rally with an RBI-single in the fourth, while Maddux failed to survive the fourth inning, the second shortest start of the 27 he has made in his career against the Rockies, and the shortest of the 13 stats outside of Coors Field.

Francis, meanwhile, followed up his 3-1 victory against the Dodgers on Tuesday by allowing two runs in eight innings, his second strong start in a row on the heels of a fourth-inning knockout at Philadelphia when he let a 3-0 first-inning lead disappear on Sept. 13.

``I don’t need any motivation to try and pitch well,’’ Francis said.

Francis controlled the Padres other than Bradley, who homered in the fourth, and Evergreen High alum Kevin Kouzmanoff who drove in the other run that Francis gave up with the third of his three doubles in the eighth.

That allowed him to match the 17 wins that Kevin Ritz compiled in 1996 and Pedro Astacio equaled in 1999, and puts Francis in position to break the single-season record in his final scheduled start of the season, Friday night at Coors Field against Arizona.

``That will be nice to think about in the offseason,’’ Francis said. ``But it’s not what is the focus right now.’’

The Rockies, after all, have the sights set on a wild-card berth.

Troy Tulowitzki is proud to be a Dirtbag

Thu Sep 20, 12:55 PM ET

By Stan McNeal -

With the season Brewers third baseman Ryan Braun is having, it's easy to get overshadowed in the N.L. rookie class. But don't forget about the Rockies' Troy Tulowitzki. He has set the N.L. rookie record for shortstops with 21 home runs, and he leads N.L. rookies in games, runs and hits.

He does not consider offense to be his strong suit. Tulowitzki has made only 11 errors -- 11 fewer than Braun has made at third.
"If you ask anyone else, they'll probably say I'm an offensive shortstop, but I take more pride in my defense. I would rather save a run than drive in a run."

He took advantage of the opportunity to meet his idol, Derek Jeter, when the Yankees came to Coors Field in June.
"I went up to him in batting practice and told him how much I respected him and how he plays the game. He talked to me for a while, told me to keep working and I'd be a good player."

The visit prompted a purchase for his teammates.
"I bought a bunch of bottles of his cologne and handed it out to the guys. We had some fun with it. A bunch of us still keep it in our lockers, and we'll wear it sometimes. It's not the best-smelling cologne ever, but it's OK."

He believes in rookie calls.
"You have to earn the umpires' respect in the league, and I think that's the way it should be. These guys have played for a long time, and they definitely should get the benefit of the doubt on close calls."

He has already been involved in two triple plays. He turned an unassisted triple play against the Braves in April and was on base when Matt Holliday lined into a triple play at Philadelphia last week.
"I'd never been in even one before this year. Both were over with so quickly, it was like no one knew what to do. I kept tagging guys to make sure I had three outs, and in the other one Chase Utley threw the ball to third when he didn't need to just to make sure."

He is proud to have been a Dirtbag.
"I went to Long Beach State because I wanted to go to a college to improve my skills. The head coach, Mike Weathers, is known for having a good rapport with infielders, especially shortstops. The program is known for working hard and playing the game the right way. It was the best decision of my life."

There are so many scenarios out there yet, with so few games to play. One that was brought up today, is that Philadelphia still could overtake the Mets and win that division - then it would throw the Mets into the wildcard picture.

ALSO, it was brought up that the Rockies could still WIN their division.:elefant: Of course, that would be the best of the best.

This morning on am950 they were talking about the Rockies, and said that both Fogg and KazMat's contracts are up this year, and they do not feel that Rockies' ownership will resign either one of them, as that would put the team salary next year above what ownership wants it to be.

I HOPE that does not happen

I think our bullpen has proved that Fogg is not an essential part of the equation, and we have some great players that can move into Kaz's spot.

Yet again, I made everyone at work listen to me boast about the Rox 10th straight!

And the Bears fan even relented and let me talk baseball (he thinks it boring) for a few minutes.

I would look at Matsui, but not Fogg. Fogg has been way to inconsistent and who as far at Matsui goes, we have Carroll who can play and possibly someone in AAA to bring up. So not a huge lose if we don't re-sign either of them in my opinion.

If it comes down to saving money for future moves...ie: Holliday, Hawpe, Atkins..etc..then save the money for them.

Atkins and Hawpe are going into arbitration this year.

I think Brad has proven himself to be worth the money, and Atkins attitude to turning his game around is also worth the money (those 100+ RBI's don't hurt either).

I agree - last night, after the game, Matt said that Josh is one of the most respected players in the club house. That means a lot. I also think KazMat should be resigned. His speed alone is hard to replace.

Josh is a bit inconsistent, but without him this season we would be .... well I think you can think of an appropriate word. That Red Sox series, he pitched GREAT. Hurdle says that Josh never stops surprising him. He plays with a lot of passion and for sure has the "ROCKIES SPIRIT" as I like to call it.

KazMat...I would love to see him in a Rockies uni again. Not sure it will happen. If it doesn't Barmes could play 2nd. :end shameless Barmes plug::cool:

11 !!!!!!

Atkins, Hawpe back to back homers.

Helton putting it away with one himself.

This team is now coming home for the final series of the year against the D-backs.

Forget wild card. We take care of business at home, we could actually get the division.

Oh man! Its in the Rockies hands now folks! I love seeing Helton go yard. I am more nervious then I have ever been in a while! The Broncos have not even gotten me this nervious (OK well in Buffalo I they did). I really don't know what to say, the Rockies have had me speachless for a while! Just got to go out and take care of buisness again!

If any body has ESPN insider there is an article by Buster Olny: Tulowitzki the great! I would love to read it! Last night on Baseball Tonight, the head host can't think of his name at this time was all over Braun. After every highlight he would be like the rookie of the year with the RBI etc.. and Buster kept saying no its Tulo! SO folks people know what is going on and know that this kid can play. Considering Buster is one of the top MLB guys at ESPN!

This season is one of the most fulfilling things in my life. Ive followed this team since I was a little girl. I have so many memories of them and tied to this team. So many good times at Coors Field...in my living room with my brother going nuts when we win....its just so weird to realize that after all this time something GREAT is happening. I feel so proud to be a fan of this organization, people have put them down for so long now and after standing beside them for so long I can't think of a better reward. Playoffs or no playoffs this team has opened the eyes of those who doubted them.

Thinking back on all these years I get so emotional...I can't even fathom how far this team has come even though I see it happening right in front of me every night. I knew that patience would take this team a long way. We had to get the pieces of the puzzle together and we have finally done it. Never in my life have I been so excited about sports, not even when the Broncos were winning their Super Bowls. There is just something so special about the players, the team and the fans. My brother and I always joke that since the Rockies are the closest team to God geographically that he needs to root for us, but really after these 11 games, it feels like we have something special on our side.

Looking back on these past 2-3 years of Colorado Rockies baseball really is something special. All the good memories I made. Meeting Clint Barmes not one, but TWO times, speaking with Jason Hirsh, getting to know my fellow fans at the park and on the internet, pretending to hate Troy Tulowitzki, the Jennings trade, sweeping the Yankees and the Mets, going to my record high 17 games this season...simply watching the games at home with my brother. This team and the Rockies are so much more to me than a baseball team playing some sport....they have become such a big part of my life and I just love them for that. I know that the bandwagon is starting to get a little full and for once, I am ok with that because I know that I've been here from the beginning and I also realize that this team DESERVES a strong fan base, so CLIMB ON UP people! Root for the Rockies!

Here's to the last series of the year (I'm gonna cry haha). I should have known that the greatest season of Colorado Rockies baseball would come down to a final match up against Eric Byrnes, the notorious Rockies killer. The battle of the century starts tonight at 6:05 Mountain Time, GO ROCKIES!

It sure did get exciting there at the end. 1 out, 2 on and couldnt' get them across with two strikeouts.

Well, we need a miracle now to make it. Sd is going to win their game. We will need Philly and SD to lose their last 2 and we need to win our last two. Then its all tie breakers.

Hats off to the Rockies, and there is still a slim chance they can make it. The Rockies looked a little flat to me tonight, and it is very understandable when I heard that Arizona was already in Denver last night when the Rockies were just starting to play the game in LA, and the Rockies did not get home until 4:00 this morning.

Well have to throw the Mets in there now since they are a game behind the Phillies who lead the NL East.

Good quote from Tulo after the Dodger game, "Seems like if you win 11 in a row you would pass some teams"

Lot to look forward to and I sure will have both games on 2 TV's on Sunday. Rockies played their hearts out this year and just no one would help them out! Was great to have the feeling of actually playing meaningful games late in September! Hope the fans pack Coors Field the next two days and give the team the credit they deserve.

Who knows, anything can still happen...

"It's been a crazy year so far," manager Clint Hurdle said. "Maybe the craziness isn't over."

That was a tough loss. Hopefully the Mets continue their free fall and the Brewers play with a lot of pride and close strong. The odds are against it even though the Brewers have the best home record. The fact is that the Padres already won the first two games and the Brewers havent even seen their big guns yet. Hopefully Milwaukee plays their best players. Also, Arizona might now be playing loose since theve already punched their ticket. Hopefully the Rockies arent tight now.
