as rich gannon would say, "he's one hell of an ath-a-lete."

he's got talent. he has struggled with injuries. i think that new coaches and a new scene will help him play up to his potential as an athlete. hopefully.

#1 priority boss: tackling technique!

If he tackles like Champ does then that would be sick.

I hope they get that competition thing going. Vendettas too, like if Champ gets beat I hope Boss stabs the WR.

That's the easiest way to get on my bad side... Even if you get ran the hell over, Make the freaking tackle!

If your shoulder touches the ball carrier, you better make the tackle. If your arms get around the ball carrier, you better make the tackle. If you get close enough to smell B.O you better make the tackle!

IMO, there is no excuse for a LB who can't make the tackle....

He might need that verticle to jump over those offensive linemen coming to block him if we don't get our crappy d-line to improve a lot this year.

Would the stabbing linebacker be a new position? Then we would have Mike, Will, Sam...and RAY!

Believe me, I've been waiting a long time for just the right thread to spring that! Every time the NFL commercial with Ray would come on it made me think that. Glad someone liked it!

All this talk about Boss and I have to say that he does NOT have to come in and be a star. If he comes in and plays good enough, plays just solid at Strongside then that is fine. It is strong side, a position that is important...but nearly as important as Mike and Will.

What is important is if Kout can play the Mike and if DJ can go back to his rookie year there and SHINE.

THAT is what is important, Boss just has to be solid.

For what ever reason, Kevin Casper from that list caught my attention. More than 75% of those guys on the list arn't very good players. So, hops alone don't say much about a football player.

Look at the rest of the lists...they say the same thing. Measurables are useless.

One can safely say, if you run fast, you can jump high, but if you jump high, it doesn't necessarily mean that you can run fast.

Not saying just because you can run fast and jump high that it will make you a good football player.

When he played in the SEC Boss Bailey was lethal at blocking FG attempts...kind of like Jarvis Moss. Now watch, probably neither will be on the field when the opponents attempt a FG. I dont recall seeing Moss on the field to block a FG once last year.

I agree. Running and jumping are key components to being a professional football player.

Probably the broken leg had something to do with that..

Actually, I was talking about before he broke his leg. I really didnt think I needed to point that out.

He played in parts of 6 games, I'd not expect all world numbers out of him..

He was not like Williams that played most of the snaps in 16 games on a pretty poor team..

Boss Bailey has a quick first step, capable of busting in the A-C gaps without getting held up to much at the line. The Lions didn't use him in that capacity but more as a zone/delay blitzer. I think he has alot of untapped talent if he can be used the right way. Middlelinebacker is not his persona as Detroit tried to force him into that position with his incredible speed. I believe he has better strong side skills because of his range in quickness. His legs are questionable.

Ever play tecmo super bowl?

In a rare occurrence, a cutscene can appear where a player leaps for the ball, leaping through the top of the screen, leaping through the top of another screen, and then leaping near the top of the third screen to intercept a pass.

That = Boss Bailey.

I always figured Ian Gold would easily be at the top of that list...since he jumps at tackles when hes a good 7' away from the ball carrier...i figured his verticle had to be around 80" or so...his long jump like 15 feet. I bet he would tear it up at the combine.
