Post your favorite lyrics here. Don't name the genre it came from.

I'll start. Back in the late 80's, I thought these lyrics were very profound:

Hear the passion in their voices see the heaven in their eyes
Their hopes and schemes are waiting dreams of less than paradise
And sometimes we make promises we never mean to keep
For blackmail is the only deal a promise dealer sees

This is my hour, I’m never going to bed.
The sky is still black, but begs to be red.
I just put my book down, but it begs to be read
I’m not nod, I’m not napper, never rest my head.
Some days I feel I’m getting smaller and smaller,
but some nights, I seem to grow taller and taller.
And we keep shrinkin’ and shrinkin’ but this will not finish.
You’re never nothing, if you didn’t disappear.
Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they change it.
Just when I’m loving life, it seems to start raining.
I pulled the sail safe switch, sea sail and I’m into the stars.
I love the rain on my scars. The sky’s now red, my eyes reflect jets.
Smiling at this blessing, this life is the best.

I came to this world with nothing
and I leave with nothing but love
everything else is just borrowed

So I ran faster
But you caught me here
Yes my loyalties turned
Like my ankle
In the seventh grade
Running after Billy
Running after the rain

These precious things
Let them bleed
Let them wash away
These precious things let them break
Their hold over me

He said you're really an ugly girl
But I like the way you play
And I died
But I thanked him
Can you believe that
Sick, sick, holding on to his picture
Dressing up every day
I wanna smash the faces of those beautiful boys
Those Christian boys
So you can made me cum
That doesn't make you Jesus

I remember
Yes in my peach party dress
No one dared
No one cared
To tell me where the pretty girls are
Those demigods
With their nine-inch nails
And little fascist panties
Tucked inside the heart
Of every nice girl

No more good times, no more bad times,
no more heaven, no more hell.
Now brace yourself for impact, its a half hour to twelve,
complete and total darkness; empty space is where your left to dwell.
And all you had to do was live today for your tomorrow,
but its over now and your drowning deep inside your sorrow,
you could have led, but instead you confirmed and chose to follow,
so once again, I bid farewell.
There's only seconds left, you'd like to second guess,
but through your foolishness you've literally beckoned death.
So just don't say you gave it all if you ain't gave it all, just fade it in the hazy purple twilight, no more time I tried to warn you all its now approaching MIDNIGHT.
