This makes the second half even more interesting!!!! Can Manning be the hero and have an JEesque comeback or will a rookie QB bring his team to a SB for the first time!!
I put $$$ down on this spread right away last Monday. I actually had the Colts winning though by 2-3 points. Today looks very good!:elefant:

It's also worth noting that most people underestimate how hard the beautiful Doc pulls for the Broncos when it doesn't hurt her team. She was getting angry with the Broncos when they were letting the Colts get too far ahead of us.

Most teams order their stuff before the AFC/NFC games end. The Jets gave a pretty good effort but in the end Manning owned them. If anything, watching Ryan's post game interview ought to be hilarious. His defense got shown the door in the second half.

Sharpe was right though, Indy blew a chance at perfection.
Sharpe was right though, Indy blew a chance at perfection.
I don't agree with this at all. Caldwell's decision was just proven right and was validated. He felt that resting his guys gave his team the best chance to get to the Super Bowl (the rest they got from sitting their guys isn't relevant for the SB because of the week break IMO).
I know, if the Colts win the SB people will say "if you just played it out against the Jets and whoever else it was you woulda been perfect," but that's faulty logic. For all we know those extra snaps could have lead to a Wes Welker type injury.

Or maybe not. Hence why i say injuries can happen at any time no matter the situation. Manning could of gotten hurt on the first play of today's game regardless if they played through or not. The only thing that was proven today was that Indy was still able to win despite sitting down. But dont kid yourself, the Indy players know they lost a grand opportunity this year.

Injuries can happen any time, so why subject yourself to the risk of it when you know your team is capable of resting and getting to the SB?
The difference is that IF Manning did get hurt he would have gotten hurt in a MEANINGFUL game. No one cares that the Patriots went undefeated in the regular season. They didn't win the Super Bowl, that's what matters. The Super Bowl is what matters, that's what they're playing.
Caldwell decided that his team had a better chance to win the Super Bowl if they rested their starters. That's what teams play for. Of course the players wanted to play, any real football player wants to play regardless of the situation. Ryan Clark wanted to play football in Denver again and it could have killed him. Football players are football players.
That being said, it's the job of the coach to take control of the team and do what is best. Winning every single game in the regular season is nice, but if it lessens your chances of winning the SB why do it?
No one thinks the Dolphins are the best team of all time and they won every last game. Usually you hear about the Steel Curtain, the Broncos, the Cowboys, the Niners, etc etc etc. None of those teams went undefeated, but you see any of those teams being called the best of all time and you rarely see the Phins being called that.
It's a meaningless title.
I thought the move was bad because I thought it would kill momentum, not because they didn't chase after an undefeated season.
I was wrong.
So was everyone else who disagreed with Caldwell.
If he wins the SB a whole lot of haters get some crow pie.

Because your playing for history. Nothing wrong with that.

Yea, they lost. But lost trying to make history. They could of sat their players and still lost the Super Bowl. the difference is they at least attempted to make history without fear. Ive give them lots of props for doing that.

There's no proof that it lessons your chance to win a SB. I understand the coach has to make the decisions that he is paid to make. However, BB has coached very well in NE and it has paid off nicely for him. The fact they lost to NY after going 18-0 has nothing to do with sitting players. At the end of the day they just got beat by the better team.

Not really. Its not meaningless to the Dolphins organization as they crack open champaign everytime a undefeated goes down every year. They take great pride in that record. Doesnt mean much to the rest of the league unless your in a position to beat it. Denver almost did it in 98' and you hear guys like TD and Stinky always saying how they could have done it and it stings a little bit. Obviously, they will take the championship but they still would of liked to go undefeated.
If he wins the SB a whole lot of haters get some crow pie.
I dont think so. I see no problem with football fans wanting to see history being made. I hate the Colts but would love to see something like a perfect season happen again. There's no need for anyone to eat crow pie for wanting to see history.
Because your playing for history. Nothing wrong with that.
There's something wrong with that when it could jeopardize the real goal.
Yea, they lost. But lost trying to make history. They could of sat their players and still lost the Super Bowl. the difference is they at least attempted to make history without fear. Ive give them lots of props for doing that.
They didn't do anything. They're remembered for losing to a pretty big underdog. Yay, you won all your regular season games but lost in the SB. To me that's nothing to celebrate past any other SB loss. Nice year, great team, had a real shot at it, but those regular season wins are just regular season wins.

You sure? Because I think the Patriots odds of winning the SB were hurt pretty badly when Welker went down.
