I lobbied hard for Rex Ryan to be the Bronco's coach last year, instead I got a young, control freak with very little NFL coaching experience. Anyhow, it was pure pleasure to watch Rex Ryan's team defeat the Chargers with "Smash Mouth" football. No fancy passing scheme's just hard nose football.

The Jets are just nasty. Ryan would have been a great candidate if it couldn't work out with McDaniels. I lobbied for Ryan a few years ago when Shanahan should have been fired long ago.

I still like McDaniels but I'm a big fan of Ryan as well. There seems to be alot of hate for Ryan because of his comments but I don't get it. I like that way better than the typical coach-speak you hear from 95% of coaches all the time. He deflects the pressure from his players and puts it on himself and I think it's cool. He also does a great job at instilling confidence in his players as shown in these playoffs.

Child, please. You'd love him if he were the Bengals HC and he had them in the AFCCG.

He's still be a loudmouthed jackass. If Bill Belichick was my team's head coach he'd still be a douchebag. If T.O. was a Bengal he'd still be a gigantic cancer.

You just named the most successful coach in the NFL and a coach who has a team in the AFCCG in his first year. Perhaps more coaches should be jackasses and douchebags. Seems to be working. :noidea:

Uhhh.....
Ok, fine, if Norv Turner was the coach of the Broncos he'd still be the loser playoff coach that he is. If Marvin Lewis was the coach of the Broncos or the Jets he'd still be the average coach that he is. If Peyton Manning was the Lion's QB he'd still be the best QB in the league. Etc etc etc.
Let's see how well Ryan does over the long run, because I don't expect him to succeed. The funny thing about being a coach like his is that you have to keep winning. He's going to be the victim of his own success in New York.

Jim Caldwell's not a Jackass, neither is Sean Payton or Brad Childress.

You don't know any of those people, who can you say they're not jackasses?

Ryan is just fine, but I still like McD. That being said...
I hope the team that allowed the Jets to back into the playoffs by pulling their starters kicks their butt tomorrow! I don't want a Cinderella team in the Superbowl, I want to see the two top seeds play each other!

I wish we would have hired Ryan also. He would have kept the offense in tact and concentrated on fixing the defense.
We would have been better off.

I don't see where Ryan is all that great.....sure his team has won a couple of road playoff games......but a 9-7 record is not all that great......with the defense and running game that the jets have.....not to mention their offensive line.....alot of coaches would do just as well.
And if he is anything like his father is/was.......sooner or later he will run his mouth and say stuff he shouldn't say....and get himself in trouble......hopefully he doesn't hit any of his coaches though....
Careful what you wish for......imo...
I do hope the jets smash the colts though......

Of course I don't know them personally but their public image doesn't project them to be. I guess people shouldn't say that about Rex Ryan either, unless of course they know him personally.

Wait, what? Underdog stories are what make sports great. What fun would it be if the top seeds won all the time?

I dislike coaches that make the game about themselves. Jets are a throwback to the 70's steelers

I think the Saints winning is technically an underdog story.

In the long term yes but they were favored today, but they aren't against the Colts.
