Per Adam Schefter;

Arizona's next loss could mark the last time that quarterback Kurt Warner plays in an NFL game.

He always could change his mind, but this likely will be the 38-year-old Warner's final NFL season, according to sources close to the quarterback.

Warner has been voted to five Pro Bowls, won two NFL MVP awards, one Super Bowl and became the second quarterback in history to throw more than 100 touchdown passes for two NFL franchises.

Earlier this season, Warner suffered a concussion that raised questions about his future.

Its probably time. Leinart has had plenty of time to learn behind him.

I think he should come back. he is younger than favre and still can play as evidenced by this first half so far.

He's had a fairly good season so he'd have perfect grounds for just coming back. However, he doesn't want to play another season only to have a crap season and go out on a bad year.

As for Leinart, you'd hope he'd have learnt a bit now and hope it's had an Aaron Rodgers effect.

ESPN radio was discussing whether Warner deserved to make the Hall of Fame after he quits and I wasn't convinced but it dawned on me the Rams and Cardinals have been absolute pathetic jokes for the past 30 years *except* when Warner was their quarterback. That ought to count for something. How many other players have given two NFL franchises their one glimpse of credibility in a generation?

Beats putting the 180th Steeler or Cowboy in the Hall.

they better hope he comes back! that team has a boatload of talent, and most of it is either young talent that's still developing, or star talent in its prime-- they have a chance to be serious contenders over the next few seasons, especially if they can get something of value for boldin, and lock up darnell dockett and karlos dansby. . . with wells starting to round into form, add another quality OL, maybe another edge rusher or some added depth at CB-- they could be deadly. . .

but leinart has shown NO signs that he is now or ever will be capable of leading a playoff team in the NFL. . . either kurt is serious and he's just ready to be done, or he realizes he has 'em over a barrel-- either way, their ownership should offer him a monster extension to stick around another couple of years. . . of course, it's understandable if he's concerned about his health, but he also has a chance to solidify a potential HOF spot with another good season or two. . .

Yes but Favre's never missed a start. Warner is coming of a concussion and isn't as durable.

Its just speculation. Nothing is confirmed. But I wouldn't be shocked to see him come back for another year, especially after watching him play in that game against GB. He looked as sharp as ever, and never felt this guy got NEAR enough credit for his play (and I fully admit that I felt he was a product of the system in StLouis, but absolutely don't feel that way any longer).

He's one of the smartest, and most accurate passers I've ever seen play the game. I find myself REALLY enjoying the game when Iwatch him throw. He's literally another Manning on the field, and think he's just as accurate and smart as Peyton.

I really like Warner, both as a player and as a human. He just seems to be a really good guy all the way around. Wish more NFL players were like him.

The chemistry between Warner and Fitzgerald is what got me enjoying watching Arizona play this year. I hope Warner plays for at least another year.

Warner is undoubtedly a HoF, IMO.

It shouldn't even be an argument.

Without a doubt he should be a first ballot HOF'er.

I've likef Warner since he first started in St. Louis. And love the fact that he gives, gives and gives.

He came to my office in St. Louis (when I lived there) to sign a football for our United Way campaign. I met him and he is just a great guy.

Oh....and I bought the football in the auction for $75. Well worth it to me!

At what point do you actually add something of substance to a thread?
