Just wanted to inform those who dig the heavy metal scene that starting today at 2pm Est. i will be returning to the radio on www.metaltavern.com (http://www.itsallaboutmusic.net) for a weekly 3 hour slot on saturdays. I do take requests on the main page with the shoutcast box so stop by and chat if you wish or just tune in and enjoy the jams. :D

Figured i would update this thread a bit. As you all are well aware of i do my Hordes of Chaos show every saturday but im also in charge of the particular server that im using through Bedroom-DJ. And thus, with the upgrades that they did it allows me to add more music to the 24/7 rotation. Most of the time the station runs a general rotation of heavy metal/underground tunes.

But thrown in the mix with that is a block of new songs that ive added within the last 2-3 weeks. Its generally about 7-8 songs in that list and plays about every 20 songs or so. In the mix also is songs you will recognize from bands that are friends not only with myself but IAAM member bands which consist of,

Well, most of the time i dont spend a lot of talking on my shows. It bounces around between 40-50 daily. The server i pay for allows up to 1,000 people to connect to the radio but i would literally need to pay a shit ton more money to promote the hell out of my station to reach that. But since i make no money on this i can live with the few listeners i get.

Just want to throw a big thank you to those who have taken the time to download and check out the Metal Tavern Radio Podcast. I wasnt sure how things were going to unfold when i shut down the radio and ratings blog but so far the response to the podcasts has been very very good.

I'm on a bit of an atmospheric black metal kick. Not sure what you'd call it. Some call it depressive metal, which might be accurate but I don't like the name. Others I've heard call it post-metal or post black metal.

Anyway, hey North, I found this dude's top 10 list and wondered how your favorite atmospheric (etc.) metal list would shake out. I recall you had a 13 minute track that was in this ballpark on one of your youtube lists a while back, but I couldn't find it. It was maybe...encircling sea? That's all I can remember.

The first list does have some ABM but they also seem to have some traditional BM and bands that have gone into a more Post BM sound as of late. The 2nd list has a lot of great bands on it and these would be the ones i would recommend.

It was my turn this afternoon for middle school carpool pickup and I was listening to the podcast.

My son and his friend got a kick out of the segment related to me. The other kid said 'that's cool when there's a podcast about you', he thought it was super neat.

And my son for some reason really loves Hordes of Chaos. Not sure if I already mentioned that. He's a huge fan. I like it ok, but not like he does. :lol:
