View Full Version : RB in Rd 1 scenario, who next then?

Assuming we take a RB in Rd 1, who would be the best guy to draft after that who might realistically be there? Do you target a tackle like Carl Nicks? Do you target a MLB like Lofton or Mayo? Do you target a DT like Sims? Assuming we've already drafted a RB in Rd 1, who would you then go after?

BTW, this thread is not about whether or not we should draft a RB in rd 1. Thats been exhausted in other threads.

I would go, Wheeler, Mayo, Lofton

In that order... one of them are bound to be there and all 3 are very promising prospects.

Im not big on Wheeler. I like the other guys though. Id go Lofton, Mayo, Henderson...assuming we get a vet DT.

If Gosder Cherilous was still there I would have to throw him in with those linebackers as well. But like you said... a lot of this has to do with how and what we do in free agency.

Me too. I would take Cherilous in a heartbeat but I dont think he would be there at 42.

i agree with this. at this point it's really my hope that we go LB in the 2nd round. i think the value is better than the guys in the 1st (i like the idea of using a 2nd on one of these guys a lot more than a 1st on rivers or connor.. connor is kinda slow and rivers is small- i see the 1st and 2nd round LBs as having similar ceilings as players, so a 2nd round LB just seems to me as better value).

i also hope we pick up dizon later in the draft.

pat sims wouldn't be terrible, but i hope we go LB in rd 2. (address DT in FA and maybe later in the draft or trade for rogers?)
